X-Plane 11 won't start on MacBook Pro

Every time I attempt to start X-Plane 11 on my MacBook Pro, the game freezes up (and no windows ever open up). Also, something that is weird is that every time I run the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" operation, Steam will always say nothing is wrong before I run X-Plane. After I attempt to start up X-Plane and fail, I run the same operation and it says that thousands of files have failed the check. Sometimes Steam will reinstall nearly all 50+ gigs of game files there are. The funny thing is that the demo game (from the installer directly from Laminar Research's website) works perfectly fine.
