Are the aircraft here similar to A2A Simulations?
The only thing to be truthfull here is why i still keep Microsofts Flight Simulator is because of A2A Simulations. Very advanced and "alive" aircraft which gives you 100% interaction with everything. What can you interact with in a Cessna 172? e.g open/close windows

Check out the AirFoilLabs C172 if you're looking for a very interactive GA plane.

Absolutely,..check out the AirFoilLabs C172. I've got this little beauty. Crikey!,..you can even open the doors and walk around outside it. The cockpit is very interactive.

Then there's the big Heavy's like the B767-300 by Flight Factor. I've got this too. Fantastic Study aircraft not for the faint hearted.

I fly mainly tubes.

Flight Factor A320 ultimate which was released in Feb/18 is considered a study level aircraft and i throughly enjoyed it. Comes with an Electronic Flight Bag panel which is pretty cool (I use it to view navigraph and winds.com enroute) the panel has google earth API intergration. Current version 0.8 is stable and generally bug free, can't wait for version 1 and other features to be implemented (WX radar, cabin lights, attendent, etc). I have heard good things about Toliss A319 as well.

Tried JAR's A330, while it looks good, the fmgs crashes time to time and can't handle long haul routes properly. Waiting for v2 of Flight factor's 777.

That's also the reason why I keep on coming back to FSX because of my A2A aircrafts ( got all of them) and my PMDG planes. And the scenery where I live is like the real thing.

Airfoil labs cessna is way far from A2A quality imo:steamhappy:

Old thread but its one of the 1st results to come up in google search. imho Simcoders are closer to A2A than AFL are. I have AFL's 172 and its okay but I always got more of an "alive" feel from the F33 Bonanza with REP for example. No disrespect to AFL.

Be very careful in doing your research on aircraft for X-Plane 11. There are many excellent ones on the Org store and there are also plenty of bad ones. I read reviews on one aircraft and watched videos on it and wish I had never bought it. Before purchasing do what I didn't. Look on the X-Plane.org forums under the developers and see if there are any significant issues being reported on the aircraft or scenery you are interested in purchasing. I wish I had done that. It's very unfortunate that the Org Store doesn't allow purchasers to post reviews of their purchases. It would give people a much better idea of the quality of the products.

Tbf there's a few things on there that I don't think are compatible or even work with X-Plane 11. Kind of why we set up the Threshold store, as everything there meets our standards (hence why some Aerosoft airports are missing).

As you say John, if there's a section of the xplane forums for an aircraft, that can be good to give an indication of current issues. I think that a lot of even the best xplane addon developers have far less resources available to them than A2A and my experience of A2A has always been of fantastic support and of a products that are thoroughly tested prior to release.

You are right there mate, all A2A accusimmed aircraft were tested by the developer in the real airplane they are releasing and there's always an update of the product, unlike some x-plane add-on developers only tested by pilots who flew that aircraft, for example asdg and airfoillabs is been silent for many months without saying hi or hello to their costumers, their forum too is dead. unlike A2A the support and the forum is pretty much active.I wish A2A simulations will make some add-ons too for X-Plane.

kapjadi, I was thinking of the beta testing, A2A seem to do a very good job of finding most of the bugs prior to release. You're right though, A2A make a big thing in their promo videos of the amount of flight testing they carry out on the actual aircraft. Not just seeing how long it takes to reach 140 kts, or 10,000 feet for example, but in how the aircraft behaves to various control inputs, and how everything looks and sounds. One great thing about A2A is the Accusim updates, where aircraft released many years ago still get regular updates. That's something that Simcoders do with their products as well.

I just got the Piper PA28 Arrow. It's what a lot of folks say is the closest you can get to A2A in XP. I had the A2A C182. The Piper Arrow is good. But it does not in any way "feel" alive like A2A's planes. That said, I love the Arrow and it's a solid plane.

I would suggest looking into purchasing XPRealistic Pro. This plugin adds a lot of effects to each aircraft that can be easily customized. Things like wind noise, cockpit background sounds, gear and flap drag, turbulence, and much, much more. For me this has brought my aircraft more to life. Now my GA aircraft bounce around a little in flight instead of flying straight and steady. I feel this plugin is definitely worth taking a look at.
