The current default jetway model is static and does not move.
Some airports are compatible with the Autogate[forums.x-plane.org] plugin, but must make use of its two default jetways, or have its custom one compatible with Autogate. Check the airport's description when you download it to see if it has Autogate support.
For future reference, default jetways are changing. We have a couple of new, highly detailed models that will be default in X-Plane 11. This kit[developer.x-plane.com] will allow airport developers to quickly and easily place jetways into X-Plane 11, and we can make them as long as we want (sounds like fun). They are intended for use from 11.20 onwards, but are not animated. The devs are, however, very much considering the animation of these jetways, so stay tuned!
However it does not adjust for the position of the plane doors, so you must park the craft on the marks for it to look good.
It was pretty neat to see the first time I pulled in with a heavy following directives from the ground crew.
Not all gates on supported airports use Autogate, so you need to check the docs for the airports.
