My Thrustmaster Hotas-X is a total piece of ♥♥♥♥. The joystick sticks about 2/3 the way to the edge of the range of movement and squeeks as it is doing so. Sometimes it is pretty horrible to try to bank the aircraft (or do much of anything else!) with it and not very usable whatsoever, impossible to control with anywhere close to precision, especially trying to manuever around and needing it to not stick and all this annoying crap. And yes, it's actually worse with slower movements and trying to be more precise and careful. That's the whole point, it's a piece of junk. The numbers do not lie also, take a look at the range of input orwhatever it's called, vs the higher priced units like the 16000 and Saitek X52 ect. (have no idea honestly just casaully remembering what many people have looked up and said). And that's when it is working right - my issue isn't how precise or not it is, and no I can tell it's not (entirely disregarding the physical movement being shoddy/broken!). Many people have this same issue also, and no, not going to take it apart and apply some dry lubricant or some other crap, shouldn't have to do that and there's a good chance of it being ruined for good if not done properly, seems like risk outweighs the benefit and it would deteriorate over time and ruin it probably anyway.
*Edit: When I say it's a nice one to begin with... well, I only say that because of the low price tag. But I haven't used any others so I can't imagine how crummy some of the other ones in its price range are. If you already know you want to get into flight simming seriously I would stay away anyway and just start with something better like the T.16000M which isn't that much.
Make sure to never pick them up by the stick also. It can damage the joystick permanently. And no, I never did that and that's not why my hotas is a total piece of ♥♥♥♥, lol. It just is but, still don't get me wrong, it's not bad for the price. *That is*, if it works and isn't broken like mine and some others! Total waste of time otherwise.
anyway, i thought about the t.16000 but its pretty bad that it has no saparate throttle (too much money, i cant afford it, only the stick)
i heard a lot of good things about the t16000 but the button placement is not good.
i want to get a joystick as quick as i can but my budged does not allow me to spend more then ~120$-140$... and i'd like to get the thrustmaster with the throttle but it does not ship to israel and the only buying option is the stick itself from israel but its almost 100$ for the stick only.
what can i do?
