xplane.exe stopped working.
hmmm. Cannot run xplane11 for some reason - keep getting the "xplane.exe has stopped working " message. Copy of log text -:

Doesn`t really tell me much. I have tried various methods after searching Google for answers but so far drawn a blank.
I did have big win 10 update yesterday + graphic driver update. I have re-installed xplane twice and validated game files.
I have removed plugins. Is there any way to re-install a totally `clean` steam version ? I get the impression that every time I have re-installed some of the previous addons etc., are still in the xplane folder. Any help would be most welcome.
(BTW - graphics card = nvidia GTX1060, 3gb).

**SEE BELOW FIRST** There's the problem. Unfortunately that's an essential Windows file, and I can't provide any further info other than that.

Report the crash here[dev.x-plane.com]. In it, include:
  • Your log.txt from X-Plane
  • A saved copy of the crash from Windows Event Viewer (Action -> Save selected events...)
  • A copy of your system information, from the Windows application System Information. Hit Ctrl + S, save it and include that file too

One last thing: this isn't the latest update of Windows I've noticed. This is 1703. The latest is build 10.0.17134, AKA 1803 (April 2018). Wondering if updating Windows might help. God forbid Windows doesn't break anything else.
well I`ve just had an xplane update, but stillgame will not start. In fact since our last communication I do not even get an error message! my screen just goes black and then returns to steam! I have another steam account and same happens on that.

Got an idea. Predictable result, but download the X-Plane 11 demo and see if that works...

xplane still works ok on old pc. if it`s this kernelbase.dll problem then from what i`ve looked up it may be a problem to solve.

Well, I have got it to work. I uninstalled then deleted the xplane11 folder. I can only think back to what you posted earlier about an add-on or mod being left inside said folder. I`ll have a think about what plug-ins/scenery etc., I`m going to put back in. Thanks again for help.

Definitely wasn't an addon or mod. Sounded like a .dll file or similar was corrupt and Steam didn't verify it correctly. Enjoy your flights.
