Windows Task Bar
Is it possible to be able to access or show the task bar when running X-Plane?

You can run X-Plane 11 in windowed mode, in the graphics tab.

I have been to settings - graphics but cannot find any mention of windows mode, am I looking in the correct place?

What is your screen resolution?

It's in the pull down in main monitor, full screen simulator, windowed simulator.

It's set at 1920X1080 (60hz)

There's no mention of windowed monitor.

Sorry simulator.

The only fix that can be deployed that works for me is to raise your desktop resolution above the native resolution, restart X-Plane if necessary, then re-launch and put it in windowed mode from there.

I'm curious why you would have to raise the resolution above native resolution. I am also running at native resolution 1920x1080, although dual monitor and have the option for windowed or full screen.

Ok I switched to a single monitor and went into XP11. Under settings, graphics there is a setting "Monitor Usage" you can set the windows simulator from the pulldown there.

X-Plane 11, along with about 99% of other applications, hate my resolution of 1280x1024.

It is odd, however, that there is no windowed mode at that resolution.

I followed John Ws' advice, it works even when I go back to dual monitors, thanks all.

Did you try Windows-Key, or Alt/Tab to access taskbar? My problem with Taskbar is below:

<@200653175127146501> I may have asked part or all of this before, but I can longer search VRAG ...so forgive this possible dupe.
You have a gtx1080ti with 1 hdmi I believe...how did you hook up your multiple monitors AND Rift?

A. I am using my ONE HDMI for my LENOVO WMR HMD and;

1.feeding one DISPLAY-PORT to HDMI ADAPTOR->Right Mon
2. feeding one DISPLAY->Center Mon(Main)
3. feeding one DVI-D->left Mon
Win10 operates normally but only sees center and .5x.5 smaller monitors... My WMR HMD, I suspect, but it can't see, or detect my wing monitors Or HMD. ...again two smaller .5x.5 in-identified monitors.
Windows works normally with only Center and HMD.

B. NVidia CP sees all three physical monitors, BUT NOT my HMD, identifies the wing, and center monitors and configures them properly, then windows start and TaskBarr won't take right clicks...

Switch back to condition A. By killing WINGS in Nvidia CP and all is back, Win 10 operating normally.

Any ideas Bambino...anyone?
What ports are you using on your GTX1080TI?

Further to my last post, it didn't work the next morning, I found I could not move any thing over to the second monitor. Effectedly it was if I just had one monitor. I reverted back to my usual running mode ie took off windowed mode and now use the windows key to get the task bar up.
