Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Joystick and Throttle??
Anyone using the Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Joystick and Throttle for X-plane?? If you are, is setup pretty straight forward in the X-plane settings? I understand that separate pedals are also needed as there's no twist movement on the joystick.

Thanks.

Yes, its a common "mid-high range" HOTAS.

I use mine with no issue in xplane.

You can assign a hat/dial etc to rudder, but pedal are always preferable.

I really highly recommend MFG Crosswinds. Pricey but a great match to the warthog.

Are we talking about the same one. The one with all the metal switches with green lights all over it? If that's the one you're calling mid range than what is the top-end and how much because this thing cost £350 just for the stick and throttle.

after the Warthog you go into more specialised kit (lots of cash,eg Vipril etc) onward to silly money.

Flight sims are a money pit :) virpil.com

virtual-fly.com etc

how far down the rabbit hole do you want to go?

Mid range?

I guess compared to the multi-thousand $$$$ SimPits it is.

Yes pedals are almost mandatory.

If you've invested in something decent like this, pedals are a must.

the throttle that comes with the Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Joystick , has a "lever" that you can use as rudder. Its the grey one on the right side of the throttle lever. Its okay, i used it myself until i got pedals, but do get pedals as soon as you can, even some cheape stuff., they are a must.

My buddy has these pedals and he says they are great. He also has the warthog joystick and throttle.

apparently, they're good. I'm always wary of mainstream pedals ;)

crosswinds are cheaper!
Avoid Thrustmaster TFRP pedals. Very wobbly, cannot center right easily/quickly, and seems to require a huge deadzone/nullzone of 8-9 to even use feasibly. I would suggest going for a nicer set but the OP shouldn't need to worry about that if they have a Warthog and stuff already, I would assume they'd get something better anyway. Just saying for anyone who will read this.
