Simple Tutorial – Ortho4xp
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jg7A1PoZD34

In this tutorial I will show you how to download and install Ortho4xp and get your Ortho photos into X-Plane with ease. This tutorial is meant to be quick and to the point, with no extras, to get you back flying as quickly as possible with great scenery. I hope new people to X-Plane and Ortho4xp find this tutorial useful.

I only last night downloaded Ortho4xp and took a look at some tutorials that involved Python and a heap of other things. Your tutorial is by far the easiest to follow and I have now covered all of the UK with the help of this tutorial, Great work and my thanks for making things so easy to follow.

Nicely presented tutorial - clear and concise - good job.

I notice you had a question from 'new holland' on your YouTube page around the Overlays.
He may have tried to create/bake a single tile, not 4 like you showed in your video.

When creating/building a single tile and selecting 'All in one' to work through the 4 steps listed (Assemble Vector data - - Build Imagery/DSF), the Extract Overlays step is not included.

When building a single tile, after selecting 'All in one', the user needs to go to the 'Tiles collection and management' window (World Icon) and select 'Extract overlays' only and hit the Batch Build button as the very last step in creating the tile.

You may be able to edit this step back into your video?

WOW... kinda an oversight on my tutorial.... I never just bake one tile... I'll add this into the comments section and respond to him. (the one thing i didn't test... of course has issues.) I tried to make it as simple as possible. I see a lot of new people (including my friends) coming to x-plane and the whole python thing plus tutorials going deep into the CFG settings was off putting.

Very much appreciate the info. I got one comment on youtube that just said i left out info with no explanation. I'm glad I checked back here to get it.

Again, thanks.

My next tutorial (after episode 2 of ravens planes... so in two weeks) will be all about VR and optimization. X-Plane literally has "make 1 fps" check boxes to avoid. Will talk all about it.

No need to edit the config file manually. With Ortho4XP v1.3 just open the settings display where you can change those parameters directly.

yep there are many many many features to ortho4xp. My goal was to make a simple tutorial for it minus the advanced stuff, just to help people get it working.

@rob2day @tanawat8814 thanks for sharing the info. I'm sure once people getting it working they want to tweak and make it better.
