X-Plane 11

X-Plane 11

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, nothing seems to work for me...
Hey yall, so I searched Google, YouTube, this platform and I can't seem to find anything that will fix this. I have read through pages and pages and it just seems that other people can just figure it out somehow, but it doesn't make much sense to me. So if you can help, please break it down Barney style for me, I am trying to become more tech savvy. Anyway, nothing I seem to do fixes it so that I can fly anything with this dang joystick. I have removed it completely from my computer and just tried to install it in the game, I tried to find new drivers to download, nothing has fixed it. It will let me calibrate it in game, but the throttle is reversed, even after I click on the reverse axis thing in the calibration screen. I tried to fly a jet and at full power the freakin thing just goes in circles and won't do anything else. It's either full or nothing to get it going. I really want to play and enjoy this, but so far that hasn't been the case. If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Hi, you don't have any other controller connected to your PC at the same time as your 3D Pro ?

No, just my keyboard and mouse. And this is the first and only joystick or anything else like that, that has ever been connected to it.

Does anything on that link help at all ?

Some people say to not use the calibration software that you can download for the stick and if you have that installed to uninstall it totally as it can conflict with X-Plane etc.

I have read that link before, I tried to figure out what that guy did, but still nothing is fixing it for me. I went and uninstalled anything that said Logitech from my computer, with the joystick unplugged, then plugged it in and tried to just open X-Plane and configure it, but it is still doing the exact same thing. This is a new joystick. I don't know what the problem is or how to fix it. Thank you for replying to me.

Does the Joystick appear in Window's "Printers and Devices"?

If it does can you calibrate it there and have you done so?

If it does not appear have you checked device manager?

I take it you have used the option to reset to defaults in the controller section of the X-plane settings and then setting things up again.

You are making sure that your joystick is plugged into the USB before you even power up your PC aren't you? If so, then Windows should automatically detect it and will configure it. You can see this by going to Control Panel / Devices and Printers and you should see your Logitech Extreme joystick with an image of what looks like a console controller. That's the first part. Let us know if you see it there.

I also have an Extreme Logitech Joystick and am currently using it so you can rest assured it does work in xplane.

Hey yall, sorry it's been so long since I have been on here, I had a few things come up here at the house I needed to take care of. Yes, I can see it in the Devices / Printers, but the only option it gives me is to remove the device. I did make sure that it was plugged in and I completely shut down and restarted my computer, but it is still doing the same thing. I appreciate the help and I hope yall see this response.

I have a 3D pro and have had it for years. Did you download the software for it? In Microsoft FSX that didn't work when I tried to calibrate it, don't use that software, if you have it installed remove it, remove the stick from the usb port. Reboot the computer and then plug in the stick. The stick should now show up. Open XPlane, Then go to settings and calibrate you stick per their instructions. I hope that works. Semper Fi..

As said above already, you don't need any software or have to download any Drivers. The Logitech Extreme is totally plug-and-play and Windows should instantly recognise the device and set it up.

I'm not sure if the link above will help but it shows you how to remove the drivers for your Logitech device so Windows will then install it's own drivers, this may then get your stick working in X-Plane.

Right click on it and go to properties.

You MUST be able to calibrate it in Windows before it will work in X-plane.

Nope,..You don't have to calibrate in Windows first! I didn't have to do anything like that in Windows for my Logitech Extreme. I simply connected to the USB on PC, Windows recognised it and it showed in Device and Printers and I left it at that. I just configured the settings in Xplane and did the usual assignments. I was good to go so I don't know why the OP is having such an issue with his because it's a simple plug and play device.

Nope... wrong.

I said you MUST BE ABLE TO, not that you HAD TO.

If the calibration page does not appear or misreports the axis and buttons then X-plane will not work properly.

X-plane sees the USB HID inputs reported in the calibration page, so if calibration does not work or is not available it will fail.

Pulling up the calibration page is an important debugging step when issues are reported.
Well guys, good new and now better news, I got a promotion at work and haven't been able to be on here due to the transition, but I am back now. I have done everything yall have said, but the throttle is still reversed, even after I reverse the axis. Also, most of the planes are uncontrollable, even in the dang tutorials. I don't know if I just got a bad product, as far as it's just a fluke defect, but I have uninstalled it, moved the USB to every single one I have, and still I am having the same problems. However, when I initially plugged the thing in, the Windows calibration screen came up, but since I have plugged it back in, it hasn't shown back up, but it is in the Devices and Printers and it does allow me to 'calibrate' it in the game, but that doesn't really work. So I am at a loss as far as maybe its just the product, because while I am semi-computer illiterate, I am good at following instructions and it just doesn't seem to want to work. I don't know.
