X-Plane 11
XP11 really needs at least one Airbus plane, like A350 or A320
Don't get me wrong, Boeing planes in XP11 are really nice to fly, but cmon, why Laminar Research can't afford to add even one Airbus plane to XP11? Yes, you could get freeware plane, but those are pretty poorly made and the payware ones are really expensive.

Atm there is no point making them planes as they are already a thing, unfortunately payware but that's how it is, most people who spend a lot of time, maybe even years won't want to release planes for free. And laminar aren't really the people to make aircraft, it's the community

That's his point... X-Plane is already expensive, instead of the usual useless updates, they could hire someone to make a good Airbus version, paywares are scams.

How are paywares scams? Most of them are brilliant aircraft, yes they may be expensive, but don't expect many people to work on an aircraft for years to make it as perfect as possible and release it cheap. Laminar aren't the type of people to make aircraft, appreciate the fact that they put so much time and effort into making XP as realistic as possible, don't start telling them to release planes for free, it's already hard enough to make a basic plane. And if you think laminar is greedy and doesn't want to release freeware aircraft, you can tell that to all the other hard working plane developers from the community too. Because 90% of people who make these planes, make them payware. Don't expect laminar to be diffirent

The prices may seem expensive to the consumer yet appear underpriced to the developer.

You should resesarch what goes into payware.

this is so true, and dont expect everything in the world to be free, no flight sim has many good freeware aircraft. You want to have a good experience, you have to invest

X-plane is not expensive. If you feel it is for you, then I think you are in the wrong hobby. The cost of the model and the ongoing development of the flight physics means planes are expensive but that is the nature of us wanting more realism. I am not into Airbus flying so I cannot recommend one but with some research I am sure you can find the right one for you. I have bought hundreds of dollars of planes that I want to fly from Simcoders and their Reality Expansions and Carenado for the single and multi engine planes I fly. There is a cost if we want to drive developers to spend more time on the planes.

??? I can't comprehend your comment. But anyway, plenty of developers contract third party content and launch it inside their simulators, so Laminar could license any number of products if they wished.

My comment was people need to stop complaining and asking for free stuff and purchase the plane that they want to fly! Why would Laminar spend the money to contract a third party company? What is the return on their investment? Why take the risk on contracting for a specific plane. X-Plane has been around a long time, I am sure they have the research on what planes should be included to satisfy the most amount of people. I am sure they want a healthy ecosystem of other developers making money if they think they can on a particular plane.

Things may change when the new Microsoft Flight Simulator ships. They don't want to lose business so maybe then we might see additional planes but that is a ways off.
If it needs an Airbus then it needs another Boeing also, that's how it should work... :)

I really don't care about Laminar incomes...as far as there are others Flight Sim doing better with freeware and large community of free makers and users...
Prezidentas 8/set./2019 às 13:34
It's worthless in their eyes - they make the sim, not planes. Even if they did the plane, it wouldn;t be as detailed as real airbus (just look at default 737) anyways. They did add airbus fly-by-wire into the sim already for 3rd party devs to use.

Yes, payware is stupidly expensive, in two years of X11 simming I haven't bought a single extra item for the sim

Things not gonna change one bit since the target markets are different.

I'm sure they have bags of cash laying around for licensing something that's not even gonna be used by all X11 users

I think the market for good quality planes has never been better for X-Plane. I think the key is finding good reviews before you make the investment. Considering the amount of development that goes into a good plane, I am happy to spend money and I have not been disappointed yet. I think people under appreciate the amount of time that goes into creating a good plane to fly. Let's be honest, you might only buy at most 3-4 planes. The goal is to get good and in aviation, that means flying the plane a lot to build the muscle memory.

I am sure everyone has their go to people they trust on the reviews. I have found Q8Pilot very helpful.

My opinion is that Flight Simming is a hobby, more than just a bit of fun.

With most hobbies you spend a bit of money, it's the same with Xplane.

I've got a yoke, throttle quadrant, pedals, a saitek radio panel and a saitek autopilot panel.
I've also got all of Orbx True earth GB scenery (I'm from the UK and this is where I like to fly) plus 5 payware aircraft and I'm a rank amateur!!

I recently purchased the Aerobask Diamond DA 62 and it's lovely.
I really enjoy flying, even though I don't spend many hours in Xplane, but when I do I find it really relaxing.
I've got mission generator which also adds to the immersion.

The thing is, you can have plenty of fun without spending a penny, many people do :)

Another thumbs up for Q8Pilot from me also.
I bought the Aerobask Diamond DA62, Airfoilabs King Air and TBM 900 after watching his reviews :)
