In regards to the former there is a lack of tension, I fixed mine with a quick modification (Rubber Bands around some inner components), but it is definitely present without doing the modification.
I still love my yoke (Hate Saitek now, X-55 was my breaking point), but you are probably better off with CH (I ended up going with a CH Fighterstick after my X-55 pretty much died and I couldn't be happier [CH has a fantastic build quality]). I'll tell you the only Saitek product I have ever been satisfied with 100% is my rudder pedals (Pro version) as I have yet to find any poor quality in it (Yoke felt cheap when it came to materials and the loose tension, X-52 definitely had a deadzone and it felt very cheap, and the X-55 was an all around malfunctioning HOTAS ).
Again though, the Yoke is great once you perform the rubber band modification, but it may be best just to go with the CH one.
They always had, and always will, have driver issues imo with anything with axes.
I doubt it, but who knows. Saitek is just one of the biggest names in Flight Simulation HOTAS (And other accessories) products so it would be great to have quality products from them.
Even if they did raise the bar though I highly doubt they would surpass other manufacturers like Thrustmaster, CH, VKB, and others.
Honestly, I'm not particularly impressed with it.
In general terms of preformance, accuracy and build quality, it's comparable to an entry-level, 20-30$ flight stick. I'm afraid to even touch it - it feels like it'll fall apart if I put the weight of my hands+arms on it.
On top of that, there's essentially no aftermarket for it. No custom knobs, handles, mounts, ect.
If you have 200$ to spend on flight hardware, I'd personally advise a T1600 and a switch panel from darek spear's website.
The money would be much better spent, IMO.
And yes, it IS true what they say about the saitek yoke.
The deadzone is hard-coded into the firmware of all models. In order to remove it, you'll need to re-wire the USB controller to a 40$ aftermarket part, and ruin your warranty.
I've spoken with their support about it, as well as others who have. They have a canned, copy/paste policy that they will not remove the deadzone for you.
16 bit resolution, sliding throttle, and lots of buttons.
(Both the saitek and CH yokes only measure movement in 8 bit resolution, regardless of what is advertised by some sites)
I watched a review of that on YouTube the other day. Looks impressive. Some people have modified it so that the light stays off.
EDIT:
Actually, I just remembered something regards the T16000M. There's no left/right twist on the stick meaning you'll need pedals right or have I got that wrong?
I order this one, i trust in logitech

Garbage. Both started to fall apart after a short time, and the potentiometers are very very jumpy. Drivers are flaky as well.
CH products though.. I have yoke and pedels.. both are solid contruction and with very good pots.
Funny.. I have an old saitek EVO Cyborg, in which I removed the spring to use for choppers in X-plane. THAT one is solid and well built.
What the hell happened.. no wonder they ended up getting bought.
Logitech makes some halfway decent products and I wonder if they will stand for it.
THough I do have to say my Logitech G920 wheel which I replaced my G27 with has the worst pots I've ever experienced.
Yes,..I've been wondering that too, whether Logtech will take a serious look at the technical/software shortcomings of the Saitek yoke and improve on it somehow. I'm wondering how much of the old Saitek hardware is still left in stock before Logitech starts afresh or whether they'll continue on with the old assembley line as it is.
Logitech have already been selling Saitek hardware in their own branded boxes for a while now. I recently purchased the Saitek Side Panel, usually used for Farming Sim, and it came in a Logitech branded box but the Saitek name still remains printed on the Side Panel itself and could be either old stock and are waiting for them to sell out before renaming to Logitech or maybe they will continue with the Saitek branding on those products including the yoke.
Well I have to hope for the best, as I love logitech products. :) and even saitek, although cheap .. it was the best bang for the buck .
