Weapons help

Hello, X Plane community.

So I recently got this simulator and am happy to have got it, it's a lot of fun, however once I stepped from airliners to military aircraft, I was immediately struck with one problem and I can't seem to figure it out... How does one use weaponry in X Plane 11?

Specifically speaking, guns and bombs.

I haven't tried it in X-Plane 11, but I was able to get them to work in previous versions (though it took a lot of trial and error and they didn't always seem to work right). So, you'll want to search for the weapon controls, you need to first DISARM the weapons and then fire them. Some aircraft have cockpit controls to do this (which worked better in the past) but others do not. There is also an option somewhere to bring enemy planes into combat. I may do a tutorial on it sometime if there is a need, but those are the basics.

Edit: Some aircraft to get the guns to work you need to extend weapon arms.

My issue is with the F4 Phantom right now. Inside I have missile controls, and there I can find a switch to arm them or not. Firing missiles is easy and simple, but I can't seem to get the guns to work, or bombs. I've looked at every switch and lever inside of the F4, nothing, I've even adjusted and re-adjusted my key binds and still nothing, I've even restarted the game several times, as it's seemed to be a fix in the past for some minor issues. But no matter what I seem to do, nothing works. I can detach fuel drop tanks just fine, but as I said before, I can't drop bombs, or fire the main guns, no matter what.
