Black screen when starting x-plane 11.
When I start up x-plane 11 all I get is a black screen. I have restarted my comoyter and games many times but no result... Pls help I want to play this lovely game!!!!

Try deleting your preferences folder located in X:\Steam\steamapps\common\X-Plane 11\Output\preferences.

It will reset your preferences, but you can always restore them from the recycling bin afterwards. You can also restore them one-by-one and find the exact file that is causing the issue, if the issue goes away when all preferences have been deleted.

Should I backup my current preference files? So if it doesn't work I will just put them back?

Well if you can restore stuff from the recycling bin, then you don't need to. But yes - it's probably the best idea. Just cut and paste to desktop or somewhere easily accessible.

Restore them then.

Now go to Steam, click Help -> System Information, and copy and paste everything that's there.

In the X-Plane 11 base folder, there is a file called log.txt. I usually never ask anyone to paste its contents here, but it should be relatively small, and should show up what the issue might be.
