As for the Airbus in general, there are several aircraft you can buy. The most popular payware aircraft is the JARDesign A320, but users have come to the conclusion that their A320 is finished. There are rumours that they are developing an A340.
The only A330 worth buying is JARDesign. Not sure on the development of it, so research is key if you're interested in this aircraft.
There are two projects surrounding the A380: Belenz' A380 and Advanced Dynamics Development Group's A380. Both are in contention for being superb, with the latter likely to be freeware initially, then payware.
The A350 by Flight Factor is likely to get an upgrade, following the disbanding of QPAC (after one of their team tragically died), leaving their systems to Flight Factor. Their current A350, however, isn't too good atm.
Speaking of Flight Factor, their A320 is probably the best aircraft you can get right now. Its systems is advanced enough to train pilots, but needs work in the audio department.
So now you know all about the Airbus aircraft in X-Plane. If there's an aircraft I didn't mention, it's probably because I will not consider buying it.
They need to hire a few people then.
Conspiracy theories:
Laminar is an us-american company, Boeing too. Airbus is a european company. That could be one of the possible reasons, why there was no Airbus in vanilla X-Plane in the past.
It's also possible, that devolping a proper working fly-by-wire simulation is pretty hard and expensive. Many other developers tried that in the past, but until this day there is no "perfect" consumer simulation for any FBW. So, instead of releasing a "not that good" working fly-by-wire aircraft, they might have decided against trying it at all. Releasing a bad product has more impact to a company's reputation, than not releasing it.
Haha, good one... since an Airbus doesn't just fall apart in mid air... well... nevermind.
