ILS Approach
I am used to fly in FSX. But could you pls someone explain basicly how the ILS landing works in Xplane 11?

In FSX it was very simple. I need help about ILS approach and landing. I m flying enroute using FMC.

Thanks a lot. :steamhappy:

On most aircraft, you need to tune the NAV 1 and NAV 2 radios to the ILS frequency. Alternatively, press M, select the ILS frequency on the map (takes a bit of finding) and press tune NAV 1 and NAV 2.

Then, you need to press the approach button on your autopilot once aligned with the runway. This should lock on to the glideslope, which will automatically begin your final descent.

The ILS diamonds should also appear, depending on what map type your have selected. On most airliners, there will be an ILS map with horizontal and vertical pink diamonds. These need to be bang in the middle, which the autopilot does automatically. If you choose to fly a manual approach, then you can just follow the ILS diamonds and have a good landing.

It's best to check how ILS works in every aircraft you fly, as each will be different. By comparison, the A320 automatically tunes frequencies, so all I have to do is press approach. In a 757, I need to manually tune the frequency and course heading, and press approach to get the ILS to activate.

How far out were you from the airport when you tried this?

I would say i download the airport s chart and i try to apply what it is recommanded. Just so that you understand better, try the ils landing at the runway 07 in following the charts. Perhaps you would experience it.

You likely should download the ILS plates for the runway you're looking to land at.

Then just try, try again in the plane you're trying to work with until you get comfortable.

Hey,

i have tried again to land at adds in germany and the landing went wrong again. I have checked my configuration and everything was ok. After having spoken with an pilot und wo showed me the way to initiate an ils landing, i founded out that x plane has an bug there. Now i think i will write the support in hopping that they will retrieve that from the game. I just want to tell everyone a big thanks for yours reponses👍🏽
