Fast internet, SLOW download
Hey all,

Just wondering what's going on - never seen such a slow download. We have pretty fast internet and the demo of XP11 downloaded nicely.

Downloading after buying from Steam is ridiculously slow - 1% in 1 hour. That can't be right.

Any thoughts?

Yes. Gaben comes to mind.

Try changing your sownload server in Steam settings.

I had this the other day.... just fixed itself eventually

DT, did you stop/start the download, or switch servers? I'm about to try switching servers as I'm stuck at 4%, but not sure if it'll "pick up some momentum" as the download progresses... .hm...

In my manage downloads screen, I'm seeing that it's only actually downloading a little bit a few times per minute. Not going to be able to do it this way.

What is your hard disk usage?

This wont be a prob for me, when my internet was upgraded, we tested it on a scale. We broke it.:steamfacepalm:

There's your problem. Your hard disk usage needs to be at least the same speed as your internet. Ctrl + Shift + Esc to see what's taking up hard disk usage.
