here is the 737 project http://eadt.eu/
First time, SUCCESS!
I took the X737 sounds and stuffed them in the default Boeing B737-800 folder. Whilst X-Plane 11 doesn't support all sounds fully (such as engine roar at very high rpm, full start sequence sounds etc.), it nonetheless does a great job of seperating internal and external engine sounds, and I'm loving it!
Here's how:
1. Open two explorer windows (or equivalent on mac), navigate one to X-Plane 11\Aircraft\Laminar Research\Boeing B737-800\sounds in your Steam folder, and the sounds in the X737 folder.
2. In the default 737 sounds folder, create a new folder, named "engine" (without quotes).
3. Place all engine sounds from the X737 into the new "engine" folder you just created.
4. The name of these sounds are 737 xxx.wav. Change the first part of EACH SOUND as in the example below:
737 engn1.wav ---> b738 engn1.wav
Just change 737 to b738 of EVERY sound, and X-Plane will pick up the type of sound (such as engn1) and play it through X-Plane.
It's worth noting that I prefer to change the APU sound to the internal one also in the X737, but X-Plane doesn't have a dataref to support an outside AND an inside APU sound yet. But if you're good as programming... Drop LR an email.
Download lots of other aircraft, and find out what sounds you can change by looking at that aircraft's sound folder structure. Then find a sound, rename it appropriately and whack it in the Boeing B737-800 sounds folder.
Folders available in the sounds folder:
alert (warnings etc.)
contact (tyres etc.)
engine (self-explanatory)
radio chatter (don't bother with this folder)
systems (avionics etc.)
weather (rain, thunder and wind)
If the folder doesn't exist in the aircraft's sounds folder, then just create it!
I hope you found this useful. If so - let me know!
