Plus what you said about needing to brake before a turn... that's a Motorfest thing, because braking while turning leads to immense understeer (as if ABS wasn't doing its job).
Do you have any assists turned on? Such as ESP, TCS and ABS.
I have all assists turned to comfort except for ABS...
In motorFest you dont break in turns, by releasing the accelerator and turning the car will break very fast... Odd behavior never seen before.
BTW also in real life in my car, i can break and make turns at high speed, WITH ABS... If the car would go in a strait line i would be screwed.
I just happened to be playing this game with a keyboard ( i think this is were the problem is )
This is due to putting ESP to Comfort, i was playing a lot on sport settings on the assists and had issues with lots of instabily so i turned them to comfort and instantly noticed this too. Whenever you would start sliding even a little bit it just slows you down as much as it's needed in very short time to prevent drifting which can absolutely kill cornering speeds.
and yeah, going offroad slows a car faster than braking in a straight line on asphalt. and depending on the car class will spin you out very fast.
It is possible to have actual clean and good feeling driving, but that is usually limited to racing / alpha GP class events on the closed circuits (like the motorsport playlist) and the bikes can feel good (but don't ever use them in multiplayer or you will be in for absolute pain lol)
1) Define high speed.
2) I meant that TCM's ABS seems "broken" overall, as if it doesn't do what it should. I should actually test that at some point, but can't be bothered.
Turn everything OFF, then turn everything ON.
play with the keyboard.
- Dont know what i should define... Either your know it or you dont by seeing it for yourSelf.
- In other case your definition of "Define" might be related to something else. In that case type in google search "The Crew Motorfest bad driving".
Also, I just provided some help for the issue you described, and so did Ice. You chose to ignore that, why?
Lastly, and this is a personal preference: I would never play a racing game with keyboard nowadays.
thanks, this feels much better!
I mixed up TCS and ESP in my post, turning ESP off fixes the sharp speed loss in corners.
In my case it didnt helped much. Once the car starts sliding he doesnt turn left or right, just keeps moving foward in a 45º angle, or any other angle... He doesnt turn and moves foward in the same direction.
I have to use the other options i had set them to default, and was using the difficulty options... but it seems pro settings are really needed...
with this: i can make 360º turns and reverse / accelarate... switch between brake / handbrake make turns faster ( but still awkward if he gets out of the track, the sliding and moving foward trggers right away )
iam always using the mitsubishi 3000 gt:
ABS to OFF - TCS to the fullest, everything else off ( i havent checked with the other options ON, but i dont think it will improve much )

[edit] there seems to site with the best options:

after some more testing it felt like i was losing quite a bit of stability with ESP completely Off, i set it to sport, with ABS and TCS to Comfort and that seems to work pretty well for me
BTW witch car are you using ? offroad ?
I have been switching a lot around for the different playlist challenges as i don't really enjoy the grand race. if you want we can do some coop playlist racing :)
I usually prefer Road Racing, for Street 2 i kinda liked the Spyker C8 Aileron, the 911 GT (993) and the Nissan GT-R Haru Edition, the Honda S2000 Ultimate Ed was also quite fun to drive. In Street 1 i enjoy the Shelby Cobra 427 (but it isn't the fastest or best handling) Racing so far the Lambo Essenza SCV12 was overall best (Skyline GT-R R34 was decent but noticably slower), but i really enjoyed playing with the BMW S1000RR Bike (it lacks a bit of top speed compared to cars in the same class) and the Bugatti Centodienci seemed the most comfortable to control for hypercars while still having a sorta competetive top speed while the Koenigsegg Agrera seems to be overall a bit faster than the Centodienci but can be a bit unstable even with the Assists turned up.
I don't particularily enjoy most Rally Raid Cars so i usually use a Lancia Delta S4 for Offroading or the KTM EXC Nighthawk Edition Bike (it looks cool. but probably not the best option)
(oh and i only started playing the crew games when the crew 2 + motorfest went on sale recently so i am not that experienced in all the different cars yet just my impression so far)
I feel the same way. Losing to much grip on roads in places is garbage. makes me want a refund. I'm still going to play tho. some things i love and some i can kinda get around.
