Fatal Error Fix #1

Press Windows key+R->Type: %localappdata%->ContractVille->Saved->Config->WindowsNoEditor->Engine.ini

Edit Engine.ini with notepad or something similar

add the following lines to the bottom of the file:

[SystemSettings]
r.DriverDetectionMethod=4

Save the file then right-click on Engine.ini->Properties->Read Only

Launch the game after you have followed the steps. If it doesn't work, try changing r.DriverDetectionMethod=4 to r.DriverDetectionMethod=3 AFTER right clicking on Engine.ini->Properties->Uncheck Read Only (Recheck it after editing and saving the file)



Fatal Error Fix #2

Right-click on the game in your steam library->manage->browse local files

When in the ContractVille main directory double click on Engine->Extras->Redist->en-us->run UE4PrereqSetup_x64.exe

Be sure to run as admin

Delete the "ContractVille" folder in Appdata: Press windows key+R->Type: %localappdata%->Delete ContractVille folder if it exists in the local directory

Be sure to do the above steps before launching!



Fatal Error Fix #3

An update was recently pushed to the game that includes Visual C++ 2013 redistributables. This might need a validation of your game files:

Right-click on the game in your steam library->properties->installed files->Verify integrity of game files


If you are experiencing a low level fatal error, please try these steps:

1) Try launching game in DirectX11. How to:
1 - Go to the properties of the game in Steam. (First photo)
2 - Add “-dx11” to Launch Options. If there is a “-dx12” delete that. (Second Photo)



Fatal Error Fix #4

An update was recently pushed to the game that includes Visual C++ 2013 redistributables. This might need a validation of your game files:

"fatal error package may be corrupt [line 729]"

Go to %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\ContractVille\Saved\SaveGames and delete all the files.
-After this in Steam, right click on the game and click Properties.
-In Properties, uncheck the Steam Save Cloud option.

4) Crash you have while opening game it might be about Nvidia driver version.
If you are using 555.85 version please install 552.44 version and try again.

2) You can check the Visual C++ Redistributable version from 'Control Panel/Programs and Features' and make sure the latest version is installed? If it is not up to date, you can download the latest version from the link below.
