Thank you for reaching out with your question. When building your property, after the doors and windows are installed and the Interior Work phase is completed, you can access detailed information about what each room needs to improve its design point score through the Tablet > Mission interface. There, select the mission for your property to bring up the mission details. Navigate to the "Objectives" section on the right side of the screen. Here you can see the "Overall House" score along with individual scores for each room. The percentage shown next to each room, such as the Guest Room, Living Room, Kitchen, etc., indicates how complete and well-designed each room is. If you need further assistance or specific details on improving each room, please let us know!

I was able to see what a room needed in the top-left of the game's UI, beneath the element which displays room progress. I don't know if it was because of a recent patch, but that design checklist wasn't appearing before.
I did try to view what the room needed via your method however, and either I'm misunderstanding or the game isn't behaving how you think it should.
"Interior Work phase is completed". I assumed by this you meant that after the rooms are painted, crowned, and floored I go to the sign and advance to the next phase. But that finishes the house and removes it from my missions list.
I reloaded back and checked my mission list, but the objectives only displayed painting, flooring, baseboards, etc etc. All stuff that was checked off and done. I couldn't find the list of what furniture the rooms needed.
After that was when I went into the house and suddenly had the list appear in the top left like I said before.
Thanks for your help, even though it didn't work out as intended. I wanted to respond with all this in case there's a bug or something going on here.
I'll add further feedback though. When I was shopping for all the furniture, there was a lot of back-and-forth within the UI because there's seemingly no way to pin the room's requirements to the 'mission needs tab' in the shops. I had to keep opening up the tablet to buy from the online store, then exiting the tablet to check the objective list, and repeating that several times until I had bought everything i needed.
Yeah I found that annoying as well so I just made a list. See my thread here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2698780/discussions/0/6497096716250041215/
