Clading/siding system is absolutely the worst.
only works 50% of the time.

-Seems like crossing floors causes it to drop and then pickup and drop a single tile.
-the other 50% of the time it randomly cancels placement then picks up the still clicked mouse button and drops a single tile.
The number of times I have had to either destroy and rebuy or just rage quit because of this is really bad. I would rather it be 1 click (which i think is stupid) than the current system

The placement system is sensitive to crossing paths of objects and as you have already discovered exiting the floor you started. I find it is best to check the 2 corners of the box I want to place to make sure I can reach them both from my current standing place. Then I start the placement on the one farthest away or hardest to get to and end it on the second location. Close all doors and place windows after cladding for better experience. You can demolition the single tiles if they are annoying you after the mouse miss-clicks. It gets a lot better with practice and working within the system. Floor placement has the same sensitivity issues. So close all those doors and pickup all that trash to reduce frustration.
