Infuriating SCISSOR MAN battle!!!!
Dear Developers,

Can you kindly tone down this unfair battle? There is no way to beat him fairly for a casual gamer.

If there's no visual cues, consider toning down the ghost's HP to 5 camera shots, or provide Linda power-ups to the camera or like HP restorative items.

Sincerely,

A mad and frustrated gamer who have died 9 times now.

a good solution can be a sort of filament or a larger room

I agree with you archita. That's a good solution. Since the developers are utilizing mobile phones, the filament can be the message LED indicators on the phone itself.

I would be too much like Fatal Frame.

an alternative can be more slow scissor ghost and larger room and a specisl option for not hearing users to detect noises ( White Day korean horror game docet )

Maybe the developers can materialize the scissor ghost first before he attacks and limit his attacks to a single hit. Many times the ghost just stands next to Linda and scissor her away immediately and she takes multiple damage before any action can be taken.

5x times I have died because the scissor ghost just blocks Linda path to escape. He gets three to four hits to her and due to the hurt animation, you can't do anything and poof! you're off to Limbo.......

the ghosts of Fatal Frame were all well balanced and set in well done "arena" places, scissor ghost is not bad idea but unbalanced for absence of filament ( or something similar ),limited movement and stun attacks. I beaten the scissor ghost but victory achieved for luck, not many funny fight.

I agree. Unless Linda has a dodge function along with powerups. Otherwise, the scissor man justs keep sending poor Linda to Limbo.

Ok.. i'll be "that guy"

The scissor boss isn't actually as hard as you make him out to be.. you have to rely on the audio cues from the game (try it w/ a head set!) as the sound will come from the direction he will spawn. Alternatively if you don't have a headset then always give yourself running distance. Try and stick to the middle of the room... once you hear the snipping sound go in camera mode and look around...once you see the boss run back the opposite direction then hit the boss w/ the camera.

Yes it's tricky but not impossible.

Thanks Rock_M for the advice. Unfortunately, I tried everything feasible; slick around the room, sniping him, but somehow the ghost decides to do me a "tour-de-force" during those 9x times and oof Linda to limbo.

As you said, it's tricky but I'm a casual gamer. I just don't have the reflexes (twitch) to react to the suddenness required.

The game would be great if it gradually introduce you the world mechanics and demonstrate how to battle ghosts with increasing difficulty. I won against the screaming ghost woman only through sheer luck and through 14x camera battles without any understanding that you have to shoot her back. And the win was due to the ghost being stuck to a wall while I'm trying to move around in camera mode out of the rooms.

Sad to say, I'm not much into playing this again. It's just too infuriating to keep dying and depend on luck to win, and watching poor Linda running further and further into the light each time....

Sincerely,
Just a frustrated gamer.

the sound trick can be unfair for not hearing users and for who not play with audio on, white day had an graphic option to detect sounds ( very useful vs janitors )
boldyjoe Dec 17, 2014 @ 4:24am
I agree archita. Now that you and Rock_M mentioned it, I didn't know that I have to hear sounds so attentively. I'm using my ACER V3-571G to play and the audio is emitting from its in-built speakers.

The developers need to inform players that audio plays an important role to the scissor man battle. For me, I just treated it as the usual sound effects that have no bearing to gameplay.

The sound emitting from notebooks is easily understood only on the left and right channels. If the ghost is behind, I couldn't tell.

I continue to think that a not hearing support is necessary.

On my side I had trouble to beat him because the game was lagging and I was always running or staying next to walls.

After dying maybe twenty times (lol) I managed to beat him without being hit by staying in the middle of the room and look around me until I saw the dude and then "click" ^^.

Right

Devs, if you guys do tone down the sissor boss can you put difficulty options in the game so that people who want sissor boss to be easy can play the game on EASY difficulty

Personally I did not find the sissor boss hard at all, I don't know what people are complaining about
archita Dec 19, 2014 @ 11:00am
its not so hard to beat but the stun attack is really annoying, withouth stun attack the fight is more enjoyable
