Game doesn't start

I have to say that it's a real delight to have spent money on a game which won't even start. I hope this is some sort of joke, because it's starting to annoy the hell out of me.

I've always had the black screen-error when trying to start the game. That was months ago. Now I've noticed that there are new updates, which supposedly were addressing the issue. I have no idea if the game has updated or not, I'll just have to trust Steam on that I guess.
But now when I try to start the game I get a black screen with a small white box. Still the game won't run.

I seriously hope there is a solution for this, otherwise I want my money back.

When you start the game, the version should be in the bottom left corner (0.0.0.,0.0.1)

Thanks for the video. It does work on my second account thanks to that. Though I wasn't quite satisfied yet. So I managed to find the "cloud" folder inside the game folder. I deleted the corresponding SteamID folder for my main account, and now the game works for my main account again. I am happy. :D

What's the path of the cloud folder? What's it called?

The actual path depends on your Operating System. Under Win8 it looks like this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DreadOut\cloud
