Questions for people who also know Fatal Frame
So I've been playing Fatal Frame (the old PS2 ones) recently and there are a few things my FF mind is trained to think that don't happen in this game so I'm wondering how the mechanics of the camera work in comparison.

1. When you take a photo in FF, it always does some damage, if only a little depending on some factors. In DO, it looks like every other photo I take has no effect at all and I'm not sure why? I don't see a charge timer, or an indicator or anything - it just seems randomly some shots damage the ghost and some do not?

2. There is no indicator I can see to tell me how far I can be before taking a photo and having it work. What is the effective range?

3. Will I ever get "points" or some achievement for taking a photo of a ghost from afar? I'm afraid I'll miss a "Rope Hallway Ghost" if you get the reference - before it walks away. Instead, in DO, it seems taking a photo from far away doesn't really do anything -- well, at least holding the camera up does show me where the ghost is - where as in FF I can see a ghost even without the camera (which makes sense in both games since it should just be a little glass viewfinder in FF vs. looking through a digital eye in DO).

4. Does the battery of the phone ever run down - or does the memory ever fill up with photos - or is it pretty much endless use?

5. How can I tell how "damaged" a ghost is without damage indicators or a health bar, or no visible change to the ghost?

Thanks!

Hi there, I just started playing today (also huge FatalFrame Fan of course ^^)
I'm not quite sure what the effective range of the camera is.
I don't think there is any "hidden" ghost like in FF.
When it comes to doing damage to ghost, I'm not sure what the
conditions are, I usually let them come close until my display "glitches"
Maybe this is how it's supposed to be, with no damage- or health indicators.

The mechanics don't seem nearly as deep as in FF.
Then again, I haven't played far enough yet.
Maybe there will be some mix-ups to gameplay later.

Thanks yes my problem with this is that I let ghosts get too close thinking I will damage / stun them but then they just keep coming. I am not sure I saw the "glitch" so I will look for that. I don't see any obvious mechanic which indicates if I can damage them or not and it's a little frustrating. So I guess keep running away until it works and look for glitching in the camera.

I have ended the game today. The mechanics seems simple but is not, you have to control the timing between take the camera, run and/or act and still solve the puzzles. Besides, there is a lot of Silent Hill so FF is not the only reference here. The game has some glitches but when you have enough skils, you can avoid and beat it anyway - and I found it very interesting. I didn't follow the story by several reasons, I will have to read about, but the mythology is cool, lots of beatiful demons!!! Worth to learn the mechanics and play.

So it sounds like you must insert a pause, then run for a bit? I'll try this next time I play.

shot a pick and ruun back , it sems like sometimes just close quarter shots damage them ,
sometimes is becasue it haves countdown and you need to wait to damage them again , so ruun and shot .
