Can't enter text on character name [BUG]

I'm on Arch Linux playing through proton. I've played this game many times over the years and loved it each time, but today I tried to do a new play through and nothing I do will let me enter a name in the name character section. I've tried different versions of proton, and the GE edition, but nothing works. Is there any known solution to this bug, as I'd love to play this again now that it's finally completed.

I found a workaround for anyone else having this issue. Use Steams big picture mode. This will pull up the virtual keyboard when the text box appears. It doesn't work perfectly as only some characters are able to be entered, but it will let you get passed the screen.
