Character appears as shadow?

I booted up the game after a long time of not playing, and both my old and new characters are shadow people, how do I fix this?

Do you mean they're only appearing as a black silhouette?

Does it show up like this even in character creation, or only in-game?

Yes, they're just a black silhouette and it happens even in the character creation menu, I really don't want to have to possibly delete my old save, I was half way through the story mode in that one

If it was something to do with the save, you could just reset the character's appearance by talking to the NPCs at the stalls in the middle of Evergrind City (one changes your costume and another changes your hair style/color), but if it's all selections appearing silhouetted out, even on a new character, then I'm not sure what the issue could be.

Are your graphic drivers and such up to date?

I'll try that and see if it works, and yeah my graphics and drivers are up to date
