Bells Outside Santa's House

It's pretty obvious that the three bells outside Santa's house are meant to do something. The game music goes silent and everything! But I just can't figure out the right tune! I'm betting that the correct sequence causes the snowed up ledge (literally five steps away) to open, granting access to the cave below... I can't find info on this anywhere so help (or a note stating that it's actually not implemented and I'm wasting my time) would be awesome!

the thing you get is a special effect item for your character you can turn off and on and it never goes away. you can even use it in arcade!

Someone already gave you the answer, but you get the solution to those bells after beating the current final boss in the pixie town.

You can also summon a bunch of chickens. I don't know the sequence though. It ends with middle middle left.
