Giant Slime in Arcade
Anyone got a good strat for taking this thing down with 3 people? It seems that the arena gets filled with slowing slime WAY too fast. It's virtually impossible to avoid the scripted spinning death when you can't run away at all(it even slows down the movement of charge moves). Also, by the time you reach it, chances are you only have like 30-40 hitpoints tops left (It only seems to appear on floor 3+), so getting hit once is all it takes to die.

I hope they rework the difficulty scaling of having more than one person in the party soon. Currently, some encounters seem virtually impossible and the entire experience comes down to scraping by every encounter with 1 hp.

At least have a setting that lets scrubs like us who want to just grind and have a good time playing with builds have the option to play on easy or something.

they said they are going to tweak the arcade mode too make it less harder.
only thing I know of about giant slimes is you try to block the spinning death in a corner or wall so it prevents it from moving anywhere then beat it up and repeat again.

You're not supposed to. You're meant to use your shield. It's a vital part of Arcade Mode.

As for ways to kill it, Frosty Friend and projectile magic / abilities could help. Whirlslash, Fireball, Spirit Slash, Earth Spike, etc.
Damaging it was never really a problem. Just avoiding the spin. I didn't know you could block it. I've tried before and it always hit me anyway, so I assumed it was an omni-directional attack you needed to avoid. I'll practice some in the story mode fight and see if I can get blocking it down.

Get a better shield asap, block the spinning death wheel while backing away from it.

The difficulty and health spikes by about 500% between single player and multiplayer. The game is super easy single player,

A Bee Card and/or slightly better shield will make him pretty easy. I didn't realise you could block him for a while but it makes the fight much easier once you know.

Make it less harder?? I sure hope they will at least add different difficulty settings, giving those with a higher difficulty some kind of benefit, like a higher score multiplier. And achievements for completing it in a harder difficulty too, maybe?

Also, I beat the slime with a buddy of mine by using our magic. I used meteor and he used the flying bugs. It was really tough, though. Close call!

I asked specifically for difficulty settings (like the campaign has). I don't want them to ruin the experience for others who are looking for more of a challenge.

Phrasing! Aug 29, 2015 @ 12:17am
We did it a few times yesterday. The trick is for whoever it is chasing to parry successfully during the spin. 3-4 parries, which aren't too hard to time, and the move is done.
