Bought it.. installed it and can't play due to crashing.

If that dll is faulting there Is something very very wrong with your computer

Only game that's doing it. Final Fantasy 13-2, MGS5 GRound Zeroes, Lego Batman 3, Evil Within, Euro Truck Sim 2, Dovetail Games Fishing, Alien Isolation and Dragon Age Inquistion all play without crashing or any other faults.

I'm just saying the game is simply exposing a core underlying issue with your system. Something appears to be very very wrong if a core DLL is killing your game. That is not normal at all and is cause for concern.

I've been getting the exact same crash off and on in the last few days. Crashes after is click the "A" button to get past the splash screen. Usually rerunning will let it go it. Tonight rerunning the game didn't help. After 4 tries I tried disabling the steam overlay and it started up without problems.

Could be a coincidence, or it might help you, Plingbrix.

I actually managed to fix it by running it as admin and in W7 compat mode. I'm not entirely sure as to why I needed to do it.

Glad to hear you've gotten past it! Out of curiosity, what kind of video card do you have?

We've found that the latest nvidia drivers are causing huge problems for a lot of games, and recommend trying beta drivers.

I'm actually on 347.09 and as far as I'm aware there are no new beta drivers for Nvidia.
