Fullscreen not working
Hi,

I don't know why but I can only play this in window mode. If I try to use fullscreen mode, nothing happens other than there is the golf club icon on my taskbar and golf.exe is running in task manager but nothign appears visually on my screen (either of them).

The only thing I can think of is that the game is fecked when it comes to having dual monitors, and can't figure out what it is supposed to do, to which monitor it should be appearing on.

I guess this based that when I start up the game in window mode, half the window is in my top monitor and half the window is in my bottom monitor (my monitors site one above the other instead of side by side).

Would be nice to see if I could get better frame rates playing full screen as I do notice better fps in most games if they are played in true full screen vs window mode.

Technical specs:

My laptop (the upper screen) runs at 1600x900
My main monitor (the lower screen and which is considered my primary screen in windows) runs at 1920x1080

I wonder if that is maybe what is fecking up the game from displaying in full screen.

I've got a similar issue. Might be a multi monitor issue for me too. I have my TV hooked up as a second monitor. Very annoying. :/ Basically it just swaps back to window mode any time I try and swap to fullscreen.

Monitor Set Up -
1st 2560x1440
2nd 1920x1080

Could you guys post your windows version and GPU, and if you are using any special multi-display mode (e.g. spanning) rather than just two separate displays in windows?

If you haven't already, could you try starting in windowed and pressing alt-enter after dragging the window to each display (to see if the problem is specific to one display)? Maybe also see if changing the resolution in the startup dialog helps?

I've personally used it on machines with 2x 1080p, and 1200p + 1440p, but I always ran the game using the native resolution of the screen.

I'm running Windows 8.1 with the display setting set to extend. GPU is a NVIDIA 660 TI.

I did try just dragging to the monitor and using Alt+Enter to enter fullscreen mode on both screens for both screens resolutions(1080p and 1440p), but it just does the same thing as when I try running it from Fullscreen at the start. It basically puts the window in the middle across both displays, so half on my tv and half on my monitor. When trying to swap to full screen it goes black for a few seconds, and then goes back to it's default state of the window being across my two displays.

Errr, I'd rather be able to use fullscreen than get live multiplayer.

Windows 7 64bit with display settings set to extend.
GPU is an Nvidia GTX 560m (2GB VRAM)
Laptop built in screen runs at 1600x900
external monitor runs at 1920x1080 (this is set in Windows to be my primary display)

Pressing ALT+ENTER when the game is on my external monitor does absolutely nothing.
Pressing ALT+ENTER when the windowed game is on my laptop screen does make it go full screen on the laptop screen. (which is unusable for me since my laptop sits about 3 feet above the height of my head)

Windows 7 64-Bit
GTX 470
i7 3770K
Sony HDTV 1080p

Having the same issue, can start game in windowed mode.
Alt-Enter from windowed crashes the game.
Same issue at multiple resolutions
EA v0.1 installed 4/19

alt enter works for me, on a single laptop display.

Let me know if you guys have any more luck with the latest build. We're still trying to reproduce and fix full-screen problems.

Okay so now I can get into full screen but... Couple of problems with it.

1. Mouse does not lock to the game screen so I often find myself hitting the ball and on the up stroke my mouse is on my laptop monitor (game is playing on my external monitor which is set up as my primary monitor) and so many times now I'm taken out of the game because I've clicked or something when the mouse is off the game screen.

2. Game will minimize on it's own from full screen occasionally for me, and there's no way to bring it back up. Tried ALT+TAB, tried clicking the icon on the task bar, nothing works, Have to kill the golf.exe process in task manager.

Thanks. I'll put in a bug for #1 and get our testers to look at #2. I'll also update this thread with any potential fixes.

I'm experiencing problems with 2560x1440 resolution and full-screen, too. Whenever I have 2560x1440 and the windowed mode box unchecked, I get a 640x400 windowed launch. If I hit alt-enter, It goes fullscreen, but still in 640x400 resolution and stretched to fill my monitor. I can run 1920x1080 in fullscreen mode without problems, but I would prefer to run at my monitor's maximum resolution. I did not have this issue in older builds for this game, even after the game's official release.

Ok, thanks for reporting we'll take a look and find out what the issue is

Are you any further on finding a resolution for this? I bought the game 2 days ago, played one round and haven't been able to play it since. I'm having basically the same problem as everyone else; a pop up caused my game to close, when I re-opened the game it was in 640x400 window, pressing alt-enter causes the game to go into full screen but at 640x400 resolution and completely unplayable. I'm not happy with paying good money for a product that has stopped working less than a day after purchase. Can someone please get back to me as soon as possible, thank you.

just to inform the devs: when i started the game from my desktop item there were no options for resolution, it started in windowed mode and when i toggled to fullscreen with alt+enter there was a black frame around. only when i started out of my steam library there came the options to choose. since chosen my resolution it worked.
