[SPOILER] Can someone help saving Shen?

I went into Aphrodite, made an encounter with both of the guys. Couldn't convince Shen to leave. Then I was like "okay, I'll talk to Chuan(?) (not sure about the name)". She suggested to find some evidence. So I went back, broke in to Lily's computer, found an e-mail conversation between Lily and Charlene. Assuming this would be enough I went talk to Shen again, but he just mumbling something about "hey, he's remembering me" and I have only one dialog option: to leave.

Uhm, I'm confused :)

I've never encountered that circumstance before. Normally I wouldn't bother with making an encounter, and just simply explore the area before I got to Shen. By then I would've already acquired the email from Lily's computer, and I would just show it to Shen and be done with it. I've never encountered the circumstance where Shen mumbles "Hey, he's remembering me", and only having the dialogue option to leave.

I'll need to test this at some point and update the guide. Until then, I suggest that you probably should return to a previous checkpoint, and instead try "breaking-in".

Unfortunately I don't have a previous checkpoint, I had only one savefile plus the autosave :(

Now tried to sell both the Exalta and Anti-Exalta pills, but no luck. I have the Lily-Charlene mailing in my Log. Also tried to go back to Lily's room after reloading the game. The safe is unlocked, but the camera and the turret are respawned (i did not hack them, just shoot them instead when I got there first).

Do we know what conditions the game acutally checks to see if I have any additional dialog options?

All I have "Hey, I remember you. Hi. What's the pleasure?" and the only answer is "I rather go now" :(

I don't know what the conditions are. I'm guessing that if you treat Shen like the escort he's employed for, if you don't CONVINCE or change him right then and there, he sticks with the escort service and there's no way of changing him.

Regarding the Exalta, the only way to get the option to sell it is to break into Charlene's apartment in Downtown and read the set of emails there. One of them will unlock the ability to sell Exalta to Charlene. But I don't know if breaking Shen out has any effect on this option, or not. Same inquiry goes for selling the Anti-Exalta Withdrawal Pills to Speedy.

Also, I had no idea the turret and camera could respawn.

Again, I need to check this myself to find out.

OK. I recreated the conditions of the "Star-Crossed Lovers" quest to get to the issue where you couldn't get Shen to return to Chuntao. I even purposely botched the CONVINCE attempt in order to force myself to get the incriminating email. However, with the conditions met, I was still able to get Shen out of "The Aphrodite" with the email.

So I decided to take a harder look at the conditions you mentioned in your starting post. And I think I've found the cause of your problem.

I should've noticed it earlier. You didn't find the right email.

The "Lily-Charlene" email is NOT the one required to convince Shen to leave The Aphrodite. The email you actually NEED is one addressed from Lily to a man named "Frank", who apparently runs a facility at some place called "Adonnis Island". The email states Lily's wish to dose up Shen enough, so that he's too blitzed out of his brains to notice he's being shipped out to this facility of Frank's.

You need to go back to Lily's PC. Travel all the way to the green Access Point at the end, and then travel left. Past a Black Hole is an info node with a force field surrounding it. That node should be the one addressed to Frank, and therefore will be the one you need.

Anyway, if you read the community guide, it says that you will know that you have the right documentation node when a Quest Log update for "Star-Crossed Lovers" shows up. Once the node is picked up, the update text should show up in the bottom-left of the screen. If the Quest Log update text doesn't show up, it means you haven't picked up the right email yet.

Oh how lame I was! I cannot thank you enough! I was 100 % sure that the e-mail I had would be enough to convince someone that Lily is a b. Especially since the last note of my quest log recommended me to talk to Shen. It would be enough for me for sure, maybe I'm too sensitive

Omg, thank you for this topic! I've had the exact problem as FleetCommand and was quite frustrated :D I've made same mistake, I've tried to talk with Shen without this important letter. But now everything is OK and I've earned 1000 experience points ^^ Yaaay! ^^
