Ghost in hospital level?

In the hospital level with the big red guy. After pulling the lever you need the 2 fuses for and the lever for. I started seeing apparition of the other player in the game by me. And it would disappear when looked directly at for a second or 2.

I have no clue what the lever was even for. Or what this ghost player has to do with anything.

yep just had that happen to my buddy and i
it looked at me and it sounded like me for a sec talking about something i said 10 mins ago scared me for a second

Those are (unofficially) mimics. They'll randomly appear (on any map) and follow you for a bit, sometimes mimicking your voice. Their only purpose is to cause noise near you to alert the monster to your location.
