Tips for newbros

This is an alt account for a veteran player, I bought another copy of the game to support the devs and to experience the quests again. Here are some thoughts for the newbros that I wish I'd known over a year ago when I was questing up for the first time.

1. Your main mission when starting out isn't questing, it's gathering resources. View the quests as something you do while gathering resources. Pick up every floating yellow blob, I mean every single one. If you do this, then when you need resources to build something at your base you've already got them. Plus doing this you'll never run out of food. Shoot mines, they drop explosives which you'll need.

2. When you have 2000 wood, sell 1000. Keep doing this. Make sure you sell them for 3 corks or better, you can bounce between 3 whales and the order to see who's buying them for more. If everybody's at 2 corks or below, just hang onto your wood and try again. You'll need corks for some of the quests, this is how to get them.

3. Hug every rock. If your radar lights up, look around for a blue blob on your sonar. Dredge that, it's a mysterious barrel and gives medallions as well as some other stuff like rocks which you'll need later.

4. No jetski left alive. Kill 'em all. Loot everything.

5. Be VERY careful of the helicopters. They'll one-shot you which is a problem we've brought up before.

6. Walk around on every station you stop at and loot everything. More resources and sometimes cool stuff!

7. Your T2 boat should be a scorpena, it's one of my favorite hulls in the game and on my alt I have every hull available (even the stripe lol). When you go from a T1 to a scorpena, you'll feel like you own the ocean. The best place to get one is the cursed locator at H16 where one usually sails around solo, though you might need help getting there. Bookmark this link https://ageofwater.fandom.com/wiki/Hulls

8. Don't bother with rockets. They're unusable at endgame and worse in general than MGs or cannons. They have 3 drawbacks, time to fire, time of flight and overheating. Stick with 2 weapons: cannons for sinking, MGs for boarding.

9. Generators are more important than guns. Put an unconditional priority on generators. You don't want to be the guy in a burdock with propeller gens.

10. Keep your hull in wood until T4, then you can start thinking about going metal. Wood gives you good speed and cargo space for questing, and the way this game throws wood at you it's free to repair.

11. My advice is to ignore shields. Your mileage may vary; see discord for many discussions on this. They just don't do much good and they're costly to repair. At this stage of the game you need all the resources you can get.

Сейчас в игре можно все квесты за неделю выполнить! Скорпена хорош, но можно и другой. Не надо упарываться в лут всего, играйте в удовольствие. Камни когда понадобятся можно купить в водолазном сообществе, а не собирать. Вообще по ходу игры все ресурсы соберутся сами собой, остаются только веревки собирайте водоросли господа ). Сейчас по проходу всей линейки главная проблема оружие т 4 до то как пойдете на Берту/Марту. Ракетницы не бесполезны, при том они позволяют пройти некоторые задания на изи (пример радиодруид). Вообще можно проходить на любом оружии игру, выбирайте по вкусу, единственное не знаю за гранатометы. Пушки - имба, ноя первое прохождение делал на картечи второе на ракетницах. Ну и заданию трех китов у вас должно быть прокачано оружие тир 5 и корабль тир 5, чтобы спокойно пройти это задание. Что в первый проход, что во второй проходил китов с первого захода ) Все два раза проходил соло, все спокойно играется (трудности для игроков только по берте/марте остаются), но к этому моменту я умудрялся быть прокачан. )

Сейчас у меня есть пак оружия т 6: Ракетницы, картечь, пушки. Периодически меняю оружие, если надоело, то что стоит ) Думаю собрать гранатометы пак )

Thanks for responding! I'm T2 and just finished saving shaya (one of my least favorite quests). I sail around with 4 cannons mounted and 4 MGs in the hold so I can switch off if need be.
