Super Structures and hulls
I've been starting this game over a couple of times now and the only thing bugging me is the fact that the majority of super structures in the work shop are from unobtainable boats. Correct me if I'm wrong but I am yet to achieve getting most of these boats.
I'm in Tier III now and piloting a Vigilant which doesn't seem to have a superstructure.

Those Superstructures can be used on any boat you want to use them one IF they fit. They are there mostly for their weapon perks or their Generator boosts.
Who are these other boat unobtainable? I am in a T5 Midori captured off map from an Atman fleet. The game does not only occur in side the border of the map. In select areas there are much much harder fleets with many T5 boats. Warning do not go there with less than all t5 firepower as you will need it.
Your boat limit is only limited by the level of you the captain. IF you are level 20 I think it is you have the ability to command a T4 boat. Though the Base Progress quests will give you the Corsair. You are already in one of the best boats in the game though it is lower level.

Hello

Boats do not come with Superstructures. Boats are only the Hull (they are flat).

You have to unlock in Technologies the Superstructures, and then you have to make them. In the shipyard you add the superstructure that you like, unto the Hull you make. The only restriction is the space on the deck and in some cases the weight. T5 Superstructures weigh a lot and are best put on T5 Hulls. So if you put a T4 superstructure on a T3, it might have weight issues or it might not have space on the deck.

But again, you can put any superstructure on any hull as long as you have the space and resources to make it.

Most people do not use Superstructures because the Developers made superstructures more of a visual novelty, "pretty boats", rather than functional.
So only a few bridges and deck components have good value, i.e. they are hollow or have space for weapons, generators, and other equipment.

The majority of the superstructures in the game add a bunch of weight to your boat (you're faster to sink), use up a bunch of space, provide no functional benefit except for one or two spots to put a 3x3 gun or equipment on.

A smart developer (I hope they are reading this), would make superstructures all hollow, so we can put equipment inside them (generators, batteries, boosters, pumps, etcetera).

But the developer doesn't care about that, they just want a bunch of flat speedboats running around with a gaggle of equipment on the deck under hollow tanks.

I Get what you guys are saying and I do only use them as something cosmetic but then you have so many superstructures and they are so badly organizes that my eyes just begin to burn. I just want to see how the devs intended these boats to look but half of them come from an unobtainable hull and the other is just provided in half. E.g. Scorpena We have the cabin for it and what I can only assume is its stern or is it?
It just needs an arrange by name function.... my god :(
like it really makes me not want to grind for ingredients just because by the time i come back i forgot which part im grinding for.....]

when you get to higher levels you REALLY need to lock down your auto-repair or it WILL eat all your materials. Respawning is often a better plan hat repairing your weapons or armor. A few rockets or grenade launcher hits and suddenly the game expects me to pay 40,000 for repairs....suuuuuure.

Also, the current meta is Water Tanks, because of the generator multiplier they provide.

Again, I blame the developer, they apparently want all boats to be flat with rows of watertanks on top. That's what the game is about
1 - Get T6 Cannons
2 - Get 10+ rows of Water Tanks
That's it. World of Watertanks.

The Developer wants their game to be flat boats with water tank rows on top.

Aside from "pretty factor" or "roleplay" you know, 'silly stuff', there is no reason to waste resources on building any of the superstructures like Raid or any of the others, maybe Rook for the multiplier and space, maybe the Halibut back part for the multiplier and space. That's it, the current move is to line your deck with water tanks.

So creative...
