nowadays i just use two shotguns- flak cannons for the boarding,
so i kill most fleet and save two burdocks last for boarding with my two flak cannons, and some repair kits when necessary
i just rerolled and now i can take the burdock groups solo
but i do like to just collect ships and, if i could, i'd have one of each all set up and ready to roll.
I do have to add that i am impressed with the vigilant. built one specifically for the speedy escort quest and it really is a sweet ship, very durable, very fast, i may use it to try to do the battle at 3 whales
join there discord if you need some help getting one
No, I think that's exactly it. When we're leveling we make a lot of mistakes with points that only become visible in hindsight. At T5 skills like garage tech don't make a lot of sense, and at the time I didn't see specializing in metal being as valuable as it is
I see you're slumming on steam lol tell people about your free glare program and they'll show up lo0ol
trying to get more people in there discord, no one to talk to lol, everyone in game doesnt check / see the in game chat
I actually just got rid of the metal spec in favor of the general skills that cover all hulls. One reason is I set up different ships with different hull materials, trying them out for one. While my corsair is all metal, I currently have the burdock in all metal but may change that depending on how the weight to hull capacity works out on that ship, it came in wood by default. My vig is plastic to really take advantage of it's speed. This way i can switch around ships without feeling like I've gimped myself for that particular setup.
My Corsair hits 80 with boost and can now boost across the map while regening energy. Put a radio reactor and 2 sterlings with a few diesels to put it over the line. One tier IV stack and 2 tier IV intakes and no fan, so 240k engine power. 5 shark cannon, 2 machine guns and either a gr launcher to keep the crew fed or a flack cannon if i want to do some boarding working a spawn.
My Vig can hit a hundred, scary fast and easy to capsize if you're not careful on the turns, but only 3 cannon and a couple machine guns, not enough guns for the crew so some of them just pump water. (right now it's stripped so I'll have to redo all it's gear if i want to use it) but it had 2 coal burners and a sterling when I was running it, still had power issues, but I think i can fix that.
makes sense
im the type that put all skills in metal vessel and goes pure metal
