In game name change???

I do not understand why it is using a different name in game from my steam name. I understood they patched this? If not any suggestions on how to change this? Thank you for such an ongoing topic.

For some asinine reason the game uses your original steam profile name. Changing you Steam name has zero affect. AFAIK there's literally no way to change your in game name.

my name changed when i changed the user name in steam on both of my computers with the same steam profile used .What i think i did was i had 2 pcs with steam installed and logged in on same profile(both with AOW installed), i changed my name on the first pc(which is in online mode) and nothing happened then i started using my other pc which still had my old steam user name and before i switched it to online mode i changed my user name to the same as my first pc and then went online and played AOW for 2 weeks on it(im not sure at what point it changed) but when i went back to my first pc amazingly the player name matched my steam profile

your steam account is automatically linked to a gaijin account, if you log in to gaijin with your steam credentials via the openid loggin of steam you can change your "gaijin" name that you see in the game.
