Where to get explosives?

try hit mines and see some mines will become items that can be pick up, it will have explosive, if you're doing quest about explosive just go to place where quest ask to dredges explosives

Not doing the quest, it seems like you only get three explosives from hitting mines or about so. I need 300 to craft the weapon workshop and they just seem absurdly rare

use excavator (P) at the red circles, you use the radar (U) to find this fields, there you get some Dynamite and metals like copper iron.

Only real source of them is from the small red circles on the map. (Smaller than the usual ones.) These are underwater sunk aircraft usually, and if you find one thats not being farmed, it'll dredge up some explosives usually. Not a ton, but usually 30 or so.

Just wanted to chime in that I agree the 300 is truly excessive, esp. given the paucity of these "red circles" to dredge. Even mines I search now are returning only 1 explosive per. I'm about 150 short of getting the weapon shop and I'm pretty much stuck until I do. It's ridiculously frustrating.

There are fields of floating explosive barrels. They are basicly like blown up mines you can hold e on. You get lots of explosives from them. I have run into a few when i was newer doing quests but didnt realize how much use marking them spots would have been. So if you spot a field of them toss down a marker on the map so you can go back to them.

explosives :

1. craft at base from ammunition powder
2. board big tier ships
3. dredge apropriate spots , brown spots on map
4, very lucritice method - loot barels ( not old barrels but those you can loot ( if u hit them they are inflamable and explode )
5. check the above posts too
6. buy ammunition powder-fragments from npc's and craft at base
