Claiming Gold bundle items?

I played the prologue, and then bought the gold bundle and played the early access for a day before I realized I didn't see the new ships or the BPs anywhere and my crew is levelling up like normal.

Do I need to start over to get access to those benefits?

Yeah, you have to restart from scratch to get most of them. Bad design, but thats how it works.

I restarted (after about 5 hours of game play) and I still did not get my premium characters.

i have not seen anyone ingame with different chars and i have not seen anyone say they have them. assume its a bug at this point. the boat is given to u and depending on how u explore/do quests u should find a quest shortly after joining the main world for a boat upgrade. when u finish that one, agian u will be given the upgraded boat type u pick. after 5-10 hours ingame u should have plenty of mats to make at least a wooden boat at ur base. go to the base and ur shipyard and u can hand make a number of boats. gold pack and EVERYONE can make these boats. gold pack is given the boats for free when u do the corresponding quest though. reality is, gold pack does not do much for u. get it if u like the concept of the game or u like the devs. its not really making u stronger. id suggest getting to level 5 or 7 when u get the t2 boats and boarding. go find a torpedo boat and BAM, now u got the world by its horns early game.

But i can't see alternative skins for characters.
