Social Mechanics?

I see there is a chat in game, but it seems disabled. There doesn't seem to be any party mechanics that I can find, no chat, nothing but voice (Which I have disabled, it's an MMO, voice typically is a bad time.).

Right now it just seems to a single player game, where most of the loot drops are taken by people who you can't interact with beyond a horn boop. There is no way to trade between players.

Where's the "Massively" in this MMO, other than seeing other ships?

It is a complete mess imo. The only way to make a group is "press K" where you find the Stream Friendlist, that is all at the moment.

oh, we can emoji 'x' by default otherwise for now your main interaction with other players will be the convoy event only. sadly. we can only hope that with time it will improve

but I'm wondering why the chat is not working yet, I mean it is an MMO.
And some Missions are really hard alone, so you would need to group up to make it easier and maybe faster.

atleast voip works, sadly most of the times ive tried to talk to ppl i get no response or its a language gap maybe

Does chat indeed not work? I've sent a message and it's displayed, thought there are no others in chat.

What about the second tab — Players nearby, where it seems you can send friend requests, chat 1 on 1 and mute?

Choosing a chat is empty there is nothing to choose, group, nearby or world.

i dont know if its still the reason. but since anthem came out. it was the first game under the digital protection act or something. forgot its name. but basically it was a law about having to have access to disabled ppl. and SOME how games go lynched into that. so since then majority of games dont want to spend money on text to voice and voice to text so they just remove it and have 3rd party like discord take up the social. im sure there are other things too but thats part of the reason these newer games have been "special" with their interactions for multiplayer games

Additional bit of info, max party size is 5, we've learned it yesterday while organizing a rescue party: a new player on Sonja or Sofiya had about a dozen boxes of lost cargo scattered around x) It was a fun adventure, also teaching him to board ships
