How to get Corks fast?

I really struggle to get enough Cork to finish some Missions. I traded some Perls and Corals but that's very slow.
I don't want to sell materials I could need. So what to trade with?
Also Water is so expensive and my Crew always need water. Maybe I looted some but that's truly not enough.
Some Tips would be appreciated thanks.

That does help, but since you can only have one on a ship and it generates less water than a crew consumes by quite a bit, you will still need to buy water eventually. This gets MUCH worse as your crew size increases.

Complete missions, sell resources, go to events to buy resources with medals and then sell them.

Go fishing and sell fish.

Engage in tedious trading with a profit of 1 cork, or look for 1 unique merchant who buys wood at a high price. There is also one more merchant who claims that he buys more algae than everyone else in the area.

You won’t be able to earn money for free, not in current realities.

Ok, thanks for the feedback, I will try fishing then next. Buying and selling Perls and Coral just make sense when you have already a huge amount of Cork. I tried to sell Dynamite, and Stones from excavating stuff from ground but it is also very slow.

Missions are useless to get Cork, and for the Missions I have, I need to spend Cork to finish it, how stupid is that when you have nearly nothing at the start.

I made 90,000 wood yesterday just killing "stuff" randomly and picking up flotsam. I just sold 10,000 wood for 10,000 cork. Cork problem solved (for now? Unless missions start asking for 100,000 cork?).
