POE2
I played POE1 and enjoyed it. However, the more I read posts here with talk of skills and git gud the more I think I will pass. I just want to play and have fun. I am not looking for a game I will rage quit.

I don't understand why a company making a product for sale would design said product in a way to limit their potential customers. The industry I worked in wanted to sell as many units as possible.

Just slog through the campaign....Endgame maps is basically POE1.

Perhaps the world doesn't need yet another hyperpalatable game appealing to the lowest common denominator. There's such a thing as a "niche".

Here's a pro tip:

Just play games and ignore steam forums. This place is a **** hole.

I have no idea why you'd ever let this forum dissuade you from playing any game.

Good advice.

Yep. Steam forums really are not a good way to judge a game. Having said that, POE2 has some very challenging elements...but my level of game satisfaction was very, very high once I figured out a strategy and overcame the obstacles that the game threw my way. That makes the game enjoyable for me.

About the only frustrating thing I will mention at this point involves the ascendency trials. Those are...painful and time consuming. I managed to complete one, but the Chaos version is just nuts. I might go back once I have gone up a level or two.

Fortunately not every game aims to be D4.

Because when you just design your game to sell as much as possible, you'll end up with boring slop that doesn't sell at all.
Many "AAA" studios had to learn that the hard way this year. Let's hope games like BG3 and PoE2 show "the industry" that it pays off to follow your own vision of what a great game should be like, instead of Sweet Baby Inc telling you what you need to add to make it sellable :-D

There has been a consistant 500k people playing the game for 2 weeks. It has already "sold" far more than poe1.

They want you to quit their game asap (once you've paid money) to save on servers cost :lunar2019piginablanket:

What industry did you work in? Why are you no longer working in said industry? If it was really so successful, then wouldn't you want to continue working in that field for as long as possible?

Brain dead button mashing is not fun for some people I'm glad this game has less of that. If you dont like it good news they are going to keep working on PoE 1 as well most likey due to foreseeing that people would be set in their ways, get up set, and want PoE 1 back.

I on the other hand am loving the game and I think its a nice change of pace for this genre.
