Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

what's the save system like?
new to the series, followed the hype. clearly there's no manual save option, so i guess there's a single auto-save. does it save on quit, or just at some hub points? i read that in poe1 it only saves your character state on quit, but the dungeon is reset (if you were in one). is it the same in poe2? is it possible to copy and then restore save files (thus turning it into a quasi-manual save)? i assume it should be, unless it's server-based, so is it?

ok but does it actually save everything on quit (like even souls games do), or like i said, only character state?

It saves progress as you're playing. If you suddenly quit the game in the middle of a play session you'll resume where you left off. As for when you're actually playing the game, there are checkpoints throughout the map you can respawn at if you die. When you die the map respawns enemies as well - think soulsborne games. There is no form of manual saves afaik.

if it is like souls, then there is a proper save in some folder, which you can copy (manually or automatically with a tool) and then restore if you die (or just want to reload an earlier save).

It's online saves, there is no folder with saves. It saves basically everything on quit except progress on active zone which zones take minutes to clear so its no issue.

This isn't a singleplayer game, it's online only there are no manual saves. I said think soulborne because similar to soulsborne games, the map resets and respawn enemies on death. All of your progress is server-side.

Dude stfu up about your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ souls. No one gives a ♥♥♥♥. The game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ saves all of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time. Cry about having to walk a different direction and kill ♥♥♥♥ to level if you want or just stop playing but please stfu thinking souls games are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ special bc they aren't. You're an idiot

It's not even technically a save. You char is always up server side, even when you quit the game.
