Anyone else think the trade system is lame

I'll start by saying I am a fan of this game and have a fair number of hours into.

However,
This trade system is lame and archaic. its setup like a game from decades ago. Why can there not be an auction house? What is this nonsense with extra websites and trade whispers and hoping someone maybe answers. I have sent out literally near a hundred whispers to buy items and have got one response?

I can tell you whats not fun, wasting hours of time sending out whispers to trade a cheap 1 exalted orb item. With such a large emphasis on the need for high quality gear in the game this needs fixed.

Yeah I get bots exist, but its not hard to create a trading system that works around them so actual people can still trade. Every other game does it.

It's there by design. They want the trade to be annoying so that people don't use it too much.

1. That discussion is as old as POE 1 - there will be no auction house. Period. Get used to it.
2. If you want to trade currency - go to the merchant who do so. stop wasting your time wispering people.
3. if you want to buy low value items you should think about the time your trade partner needs to invest. Is he at a boss? Does he care about the value?

Solution: Maybe they implement some kind of shop in your hideout.

Agreed. I will target 1 item, since that is likely all I could afford at the time anyway, set my requirements, turn on the live feed and if I see something i can afford, I will try to message. If it happens, great, if not, whatever.

30 minutes is about all I will spend, as normally things move FAST. spending multiple hours, you gotta ask yourself, maybe I should just try to craft it or get a good base to drop.

soo...GGG will just piss off the players and make it so frustrating players dont want to do it... instead of addressing the issue themselves because they are scared of consequences and not being able to control bots int their own game. Great game design choice. Next step I'm going to need to complete a Vaal captcha to trade an item.

I mean, people play SSF because it feels more rewarding to them to finally drop that 1 item, or craft that 1 item they need, instead of just buying the cheapest they can. It's all about the dopamine in SSF.

Something people need to understand is when you whisper people they are not obligated to stop everything they are doing (which most likely is trying not to die in a map) to attend to your needs.

GGG is prioritizing the long term health of the game over individual needs. I have not problem with that.

GGG is prioritizing the long term health of the game over individual needs. I have not problem with that.

People just nowadays cannot grasp the idea that not everything has to pander to them specifically, like the OP here

There is always a better way to make it more accesable but yet controlable. GGG just never realy tried. I am not participating in trade at all, just because i am too lazy.
Lets imagine if there was some special NPC that would randomly, say, pick items from other players public storages and reshufled it once in a long period - i would. Easy does not mean bad.
