Is story good?

Hey guys, couple questions here.
First - is the story good, or is it just generic -> go there, kill that, here is couple of coins?
Second - Should I play POE 1 story or they are not related at all?

Yes ( But it still is an ARPG, where Story is not the most important)

POE1 and POE2's stories overlap. POE2 is sorta prequel, but it seems like acts 4 through 6 will be occuring either during or immediately before POE1

But if you play POE1 first, you'll understand more references to various things

So far the story is...normal? We only have the first half right now, so we don't really know where it's going to go just yet

It's slight better than poe1(interwaeve), but if you are maining story it's may not be as what u looking for.

What? No it's a sequel. All of PoE1 happened, then there was a lull for a few years, then the PoE2 story starts to happen.
You'll even visit the Town you helped build up in PoE1 Settlers League, now fully built and intact.

In general, it's of course "Go here, kill that", since it's an Hack'n'Slay ARPG. However there is cool lore sprinkled around the world, if you take the time to listen to the NPC dialogues and read the various notes and stuff you'll find.
