Minion revive is poorly implimented
Minions dying a second before the revive ticker goes off resets timer making them take even longer, why? do you hate minion builds that much that enemies will hound the summoner like hell let loose, making them hard to play so we play something else?

I kinda agree with this.
Makes the choice of having some meaty minions as tanks and some frailer ones for DPS kind of meaningless because the staggered deaths from one being tankier than the other ends up preventing them from respawning altogether.

I think we could really do without that limitation.

Not saying it's unplayable with it, but it does feel highly annoying and there's not much counter play to be had - unlike ES delay where you can blame yourself for standing in fire, minion death isn't something you can always avoid. Sometimes they just won't move in time to not get pancaked.

its not unplayable true, when my minions die i have to run away and sometimes im just being ganked, and i am not trying to face large groups, i take it slow and careful.

also, few other games that use minions have a tank minion like wolcen, a meaty aggro puller that works well. be nice to have a guy that can be a target and not me, cause i get targeted half the time and run up on by fast or ranged attackers and even with 900 shield, im cut down quick.

is nothing with what i cant live... just survie 5 seconds and your minions are back a,so there are passive points to reduce it

You have zombies for this reason.. But you don't use them because you follow what all other minion build does. That is your fault for going full arsonists and forget all about zombies. Worst part is they don't even cost spirit and yet none uses them.

The issue is that minions dying reset. So it's not that summoners have nothing BUT frail minions, it's that they have some frail and some sturdy minions.
The frail minions die, are close to resummon and then get reset instead because the tankier ones bought it at any point during the 30 second cooldown.

Zombies would only work if people did exactly what you just implied: taking nothing but frail spirit cost minions, because then they all die at once and respawn without issue regardless of whether the zombies buy it or not.

Unless you mean for the "running around without minions because respawn" bit, but I think that's part and parcel of your minions getting toasted - don't get a lot of corpses without turning live enemies into them, which can be hard if your DPS minions are past tense.
Not to mention I tend to lose a lot of minions mostly during boss fights, and a lot of those don't offer many corpses in the arena to revive for zombs anyhow.

i think my issue with minions is lack of "control" you have "command attack" but what if i want to move my mages behind me or to move them out of AoE instead of randomly running forward into death like they do alot of time, same with clerics Idk man am massive fan of "pet builds" and diablo miss that mark for me, Poe1 felt meh but better. but still same "radominess" where they move into danger instead of ok i got "warriors" or "brute" infront but still dps minions will random path infront and die making dps flux... so ye thats my little rant with my time so far as witch minon build

You can map a "Minions, go here!"-Button. But from my experience, it's more of a hindrance than help.

Really good points. I would like to have more control over my dudes.
Tell my warriors to go in first with my mages sitting beside me would be awesome and hopefully help stop everyone jamming in a doorway because 2 mages are standing in the way of a warrior whos trying to bum-rush the enemy haha

im a long time poe minion builder and lets not beat around the bush but generally you dont take out a staple class that has worked so well, classes feel white washed in this game, taking whole poe 1 ascendancies and making classes out of them, minions will be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if theres is no necro, will make t10- t16s impossible and fire gets boring, ur spirit system is ♥♥♥♥, theres not enough auras to buff your minions, banners are useless, 99% of all minion builds in the future will be gemlings, IN ALL HONESTY GGG HAS ♥♥♥♥♥♥ WITCH IN GENERAL

agreed, you are a glass cannon with helpers doing no real aggro, moderate damage if not pooling it all into minions and ignoring yourself and atm i dont live long if i am targeted, im trying to do an energy shield build but my energy shield is broken quickly if they target me and then how do i regain it in combat? i cant run cause im hunted down to quickly, and my health potion doesnt touch my energy shield, and the unique i have for my chest gives more energy shield while taking life, so im putting myself in more danger trying to make a certain design of character that is focal around the witch.
True, they just "reform" all the time, which is 5 seconds, any kind of cooldown implicating reviving is not relevant, it will always be 5 seconds save your passive talents for something more useful...

iunno about you chief, but my minions with minimal investment into minion life dont die very often. Sounds like your damage is weak sauce.
The revive timer is weird but it becomes a non issues once you build enough defense into your minions. They should not be dying to 99% of the content after a certain point.
