and if you dont understand, 30% reduction is alot, but that does not change the fundamental of the trials.
afflictions that stacks through 3 stages of trials that will most likely take more than 1 hour which you will most likely fail while you cant take damage is the real issue here.
and it is really hard for melee classes to not take damage without respec their entire build to a pseudo range build.
i dont need the game to tell me that "i built wrong" when they are the one that give us this freedom in the first place. they should be the one to stop player "building wrong" in the first place.
game is for fun, the mode we are playing in is not even hardcore nor competitive, but only pve where people come to have fun and chill.
if there are only certain "ways" to play the game, they should have just limited the skills and weapons sets that players can get and build around, not when players build their own style, work it up to that point and bam, "you build wrong, go change your build".
not to mention this is not even "endgame" related stuff where everyone has maxed out everything, but rather this is part of the vital progression where players should have go through easily after they spent 10 hours trying hard to do so while doing it over leveled.

or just make 2 different sets of challenges for melee classes and range classes if they dont know how to balance the game.
This mode is actually the "competitive" with ladder. SSF would be i am just gonna do my own ♥♥♥♥ while the rest of follow the lines.
But never mind that. You are correct, you can play in whatever way you like.
But you cant really expect GGG to be able balance the massive passive tree, all the skills and crafting so everything works now can you?
There is absolutely nothing wrong with reevaluating your build and gear when hitting a roadblock. Respecs exist like it does in this game for a reason, it is a "if i swap these 4 nodes and move them over here maybe i can beat/survive whatever is stopping me".
So relax, nobody is saying you should swap everything just to play something you dont want to.
Only that you should do some corrections in your build so it works and you can progress.
jokes aside, i know that i will be able to do it if i swap some skills around and change my loadout for a range build.
but i am not going to do that. because if i want to, i would have created a character that does range damage in the first place.
players shouldnt be forced to do so in the first place. if i want getting forced into doing something i dont want to do, why dont i go do a job that i hate? at least that pays me money instead of me paying for my own torture.
brother, I 100% agree with you. These trials are the most ridiculous thing. A toddler that can barely touch a screen would understand that using a system where you lose essentially health if you get hit will be exponentially hard for a melee class.

that said, posting in these forums is like 1 in 10 people that don't have smart ass answers or who say "git good" whilst running there summoner/fire wall builds and ranged lightning wayfarers
the trials are THE WORST and in no way fun or challenging. simply dumb/poor design for a melee
No idea why but people shill so hard for a game that clearly has some major issues.
Granted it beta but this design for melee is abysmal by comparison and its not just the trials. Enemies that do 1 shot chaos AoE and stand INSIDE them!!!!(those water whirlpool things)... you have no choice but to skip these mobs and run away
no one likes to play a sub par class or build as we all begin to feel like we're being left behind and frustrated
I havent try the updated sekhema so no comment. As for trial of chaos is nothing but RNG roll at the moment. It is the type of roguelike that everyone hate the most. No idea why they seriously think this masochistic design is good. It is doable only with broken build.
yea, enjoying the game so far, currently lvl 74 and doing end game stuff solo and still having fun even though i do worse than most range classes that have less risk than i do in my run. because at the very least, i am still progressing and having fun my own way steadily.
but passive tree points locked behind these trials are putting me off and kinda getting in my way of recommending this game to others. the thinking process behind these trials are so poorly thought of that i doubt even them are doing these trials and testing it out themselves.
