Portal disappears in town

If i spend more then a minute or two in town doing gear stuff my portal disappears, Is this intended ?

holy grrrrr, alright i cant play like this, i spend two minutes in town and the portal is gone, and zone is reset... f

Its a bit longer then 2 mins. Its just something you have to get use to...
atleast the portals are free now.

Note: I have never had 1 expire on me. But i have used my friend portal befor, and when he took it back, i was stuck in town, since hes portal closed after him.. What a ♥♥♥♥ move.

How long do you "afk" in town where they do this?
Do you like turn your back and gone, or is it like 5 mins?

not afk, just doing gear stuff, sorting ect.. maybe 3 mins last time, only reason i know is a time stamp in discord. I get it wont stay open forever but im not going and having dinner or anything, just managing inventory, selling and its gone and zone has reset.

I think I saw on one of the loading screen it says that the portal lasts around 8 minutes.

ill time it next go, hard to tell time passing playing games i guess so maybe it was 8 mins but did not feel like it.

guess town is not a good place to try and figure out skills and stuff, thanks ill try and pay closer attention.

You can turn on ingame clock, in the game settings. The clock follows your pc clock.
And it could help you to better keep track of time?

No. This is horrible game design. PoE1 did not reset the dungeon when you portal to town and an ARPG should never do so. The act of having a portal should keep that instance tethered. This is atrocious.

Its exactly the same in POE1. Instances reset after 8-15mins. Nothing has changed.
