not being able to change your ascendancy is crazy,, i unknowingly picked blood mage on witch, and now i have to start a new character.. complete trash, it boggles the mind this is permanent......

Been permanent in PoE1 which has been around like 10+yrs....so it was to be expected. Also, Johnathon Rogers confirmed this in a few interviews. Just use your gear for a twink, you'll be able to blitz through the campaign. ARPG's are all about rolling new toons, especially in PoE for new Leagues. This choice will remain a permanent decision even in 1.0

They should allow you to change as they allow you to respec your ascendancy tree. Just make it so that you need to do another trial to change if they want the choice to be important. They could add a token that you could collect from a trial and have in the stash till you want to change.

You can change your ascendancy in poe1.

What!? I know you can obviously reskill the points, but I always thought the choice was permanent? It definitely was in the early days. When did it change? I stand corrected then if so and I apologise! I genuinely thought it was still perma in PoE1 too!

You have to respec all you're accendency points so nothing is allocated. Redo the level 1 lab or lab of your choice. Beat it and you change your accendency.

After trying to put together my own build putting 230 hours into my char to finally get stuck at lvl 10 maps i am way beyond frustrated to find out that the ascendency I picked is actually bs and i am supposed to make a completely new char just to fix a small mistake. If they dont change this i will never try my own build again and just go with guides from the beginning. The fact that you could hardly change your builds in the early game was the reason i never really got into poe 1. If they dont change this it will likely ruin poe 2 for me also.

So please change this asap.

In the future with leagues they will need to add ascendancy respecs... When nerfs roll out and your active build for a specific ascendancy bricks your build you need to be able to respec it fully.

This happened almost with stormweaver sorcs but they have lightning builds to swap to now and other small builds. But if a large case of direct ascendancy nerfs come around to say stormweaver in general they should have the right to respec to chronomancer(when it gets better lmao this is just an example).

I am playing casually and I play without reading guides, making decisions on the go what feels natural - just like I did in PoE I. But I choose Blood Mage for my Witch which was incredible stupid and I lost any motivation to continue because I can't respec my ascendency. I would even pay actual money for it!
