PC FREEZING HARD POWER REST

HI,
POE 2 is freezing making PC unresponsive currently installed from POE website going to try steam key and see if that fixes the issue. But guaranteed to happen every time I play and only on POE 2 I run All games at 2k 1440 and at 60 fps for POE 2 shouldn't be that big of an issue. I wouldn't care but over time and as many times the freeze happens it can corrupt data and cause issue to my PC. This is directly from POE 2 game its self and can become a major issue as it can harm your pc. Hope there is a fix for this ASAP its been a week solid this is happening.

PC:
cpu: intel 9000k
gpu 3080 Ti FE
ram 32 gb 3600mhz

Update ur bios if u havent already , Disable fast boot in windows if u havent already , Limit the frame rate in ur video card to ur monitor refresh rate , Try running SFC /Scannow in CMD as an Admin , after all this see if its fixed after a fresh boot , After u disable fast boot fully shut down ur system , wait 10 seconds and power it back on (fast boot gives me kernel power errors , that cause random pc restart)

Also @OP , i see u may have fixed it , I would still recommend doing the above as it wil greatly improve ur system health (fast boot is bad with 32GB ram and SSD , and SFC is build in error scan and repair for windows)

yeh second this +1
remember fast boot has 2 locations:
-your bios
-windows: power options > choose what the power buttons do > change settings that are currently unavailable > untick turn on fast start-up and I also like to disable Hibernate pish.

Still crashing and tried all 17 ways to fix the issue. Nothing against anyone but GGG needs to say something about this and address this at this point.They are ignoring it and there is a reason why. Even with patches it froze today 3 times where I had to power reset each time. It only happens with POE 2 any other game I play has 0 issues with the freezing. They're ignoring my request for a refund as well via email.

I tried everything but updating Bios, I don't feel like I need to since my PC is stable running everything but this game.

I'm on a 14900K + RTX 4090

So here's what works for me:

1. Open Task Manager
   
2. Start the game
   
3. Immediately right click on "PathOfExileSteam" and enable Efficiency Mode
   
4. Done

You might lose FPS, but this works EVERY TIME, not a single crash since I started doing this.

Glad this discussion is here to know it's not just me. Just got some new parts and worried I might have to RMA, but my issues exactly like those everyone's describing. Hard lock/crash on loading.

My game still crashes as well... If they dont fix it any time soon i will want refund also... Whats that incompetent behaive. Thats the only game I have any problems!

Even after the update yesterday there problem is still an issue. But the patch notes not mentioned that this problem might be fixed. I got a crash yesterday and this morning. Still have to use the BES to limit the CPU usage to ~90%. Would be nice to fix this more urgently...

The problem about the efficiency mode is that it's disabling automatically as soon as the game pulls more performance. Also tried it on Windows 11.

if you can "go back" to windows 23H2 feature update this fixes the freezing, if you are like me and don't have the "go back" option just have to wait for microlul and GGGGGG to fix...

+1 i can confirm this i did it and not a single crash/freeze after 3 weeks rn

hard reset is a heat issue 99% of the time
find out why and fix it

lower settings, clean hardware, paste
will all help

Even if it so and this is heat issue (definitely not), then only reason of it is PoE2. No other program/game ever made this with my rig.
