As for J, I don't recall any quest item dropping from either version of J. First time you get them down to half health and they retreat leaving the stairs open for you to proceed. Second time they are the final boss of the Act and you just talk to someone at the Caravan after beating J.
Also if you got 4 points in ascendency you'll need lvl3 coin, not lvl 2.
Overall, a3 and a2 seems to be interchangeable, and it is only a question of finfing the token of the appropriate lvl
Yeah, the quest doesn't really exist in cruel, you can't complete it. It's one of the unfinished things. Once Acts 4-6 are released, there won't be a cruel difficulty anymore, thus such problems won't exist anymore. For now, just ignore that Quest, it'll disappear once you enter Act 3 in Cruel.
That is odd because I been talking to friends who are lvl 70 and they were able to do the trail again.
